Meet David Lengyel of Venture Up

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Lengyel.

Thanks for sharing your story with us David. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We run team building events across the city, at all the major hotels conference rooms, city parks… from the Hermann park area, to City Center and the Woodlands

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If you enjoy what you do, then any challenges are just new opportunities to look for new solutions to whatever occurs – whether its connected to a client, the economy, the market, regulations, or personnel.

Venture Up – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Venture Up is the oldest Team Building company in the country. We have worked with just about every major company in the USA and in more than 20 countries. In 1983, when we started, team building was not even a heading in the phone book, we had to talk ATT into adding it as a listing category. Today, we offer a wide range of team programs including collaborative Strategic Games, competitive Amazing Races and Minutes to Win It events, and a wide variety of Social Responsibility based programs including our Bike Builders Challenge, Can Creations and 3D Bionic Hands.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Running into clients who participated in a Venture Up program many years ago. We recently ran a program with Optum Management. After the event, a senior vice president came up and told us he had participated in a Venture Up program more than 20 years ago in another state, while with Chase Bank. And when he heard they were thinking about working with us – he gave them the green light because he still recalled the experience many years before.
