Hi David, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I had been in Merchant Services for a year as a captive agent for one company when a friend who was in a high-risk industry needed help with processing. The company I was with did no high risk at the time, so I sought out advice and companies that did underwrite these types of accounts. From that, Space City Payments was born. We now represent 10 processors and 2 consumer financing companies.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not. I learned real quick that businesses don’t want to switch just because you are a nice guy or have better rates. The old adage of “People would rather dance with the devil they know than the one they don’t” rings true. I also learned that when businesses go through their bank, they are just a number. The banker more than likely doesn’t know or care about the business they just signed up. That’s why going through a professional can make all the difference in the world. We care about our clients. If they aren’t successful, then neither are we. I try to get to know each and every client and tailor a solution for them that best fits the needs of their business.

We are a local merchant services broker. We specialize in credit card processing, point-of-sale systems, and consumer financing services to businesses of all sizes. Pay via invoice by text or email. Gateways and e-commerce. Whether you are a mini merchant doing $2500 – $5000 a month or large multi-location business doing a $1mil+ a month we can help.
Any big plans?
We are in growth mode right now. The 3-year plan is to eventually white label all our offerings under the Space City Payments Logo. In the meantime, though, we love servicing our current clients and always look to add more to the family.
