Meet David Rosa of SUNTech SmartHome Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Rosa.

Hi David, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
My name is David Rosa, founder, and owner of SUNTech SmartHome Solutions. We are modern energy solution experts who help homeowners improve the quality of their homes. In addition to solar energy, we focus on everything that makes a home more energy efficient, including spray foam insulation, roofing, HVAC systems, windows, water softener systems, and home automation.

I was introduced to solar energy in 2010 as a technician at another company. A customer encouraged me to get into renewable energy. There was little information about that in Texas at the time. I worked several other jobs and went through personal difficulties and hardships. In 2015, my son had just been born and I needed to find a path forward for me and my family.

I remembered a conversation about renewables and was hired as a salesman for a company in Dallas. From there, I joined another solar company where I helped create a system to calculate energy usage, formulas, and payments for homeowners. We were generating $1 million in sales every month and were growing in Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, and Austin. But I was still a salesperson. After six years, I decided to start my own company.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve had struggles throughout my life. I was considered a troubled youth, and I dropped out of high school. I was working in fast food when a manager from Radio Shack saw my potential and hired me. I became a customer service specialist before I turned 18. I realized I was good at sales. Sales saved me. It gave me a path forward.

During my teenage years, I got a computer and taught myself a lot of programs including programs for marketing, branding, and music. I had a recording studio at 13. With all the jobs I had, I constantly learned from my mistakes. I often left money on the table at past sales jobs. I realized that company owners don’t always have your best interests at heart, and sometimes you have to make difficult choices to move on.

A year ago, I started focusing on sales after building this company for seven months. I took a lot of risks and had a lot of losses, but I learned a lot more. The growth and development are incredible. I’m not the same person I once was. I developed patience, and a different outlook became more self-aware, and have a better emotional understanding.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are an all-inclusive home energy solutions company, dedicated to helping homeowners lower their energy costs and usage while improving their quality of living.

Specializing in retrofitting homes to reduce or even eliminate their energy usage by addressing any inefficiencies where their home may lose energy, and make recommendations on how to make it more energy efficient, including spray foam insulation and HVAC to reduce up to 40% of their energy usage and introducing SOLAR ENERGY to take a proactive approach to were they get their electricity from. We can help homeowners who qualify make the switch $0 down with rates.

When dealing with older homes, it may be best to replace their roof and windows in order to better protect the home for its new lifestyle. After which we bring in the latest technology for complete home automation and control and monitoring including the Water System from Tankless Water Heaters & Water Filters & Softeners.

Well, I am most proud of all the K 12 platforms that we have been creating. We have books to educate kindergarten kids and first-grade students on renewable energy. We’re working on superhero coloring books, comic books, activity books, and other things kids could use to learn more about solar and renewable energy.

We are also creating a culture that fits more of today’s work environment. That you could always make a dollar in the family time is as important as work time and you could always make up work time to handle personal situations if they occur. I believe by having a happy team they will contribute more to the success and if there is less stress over their life situation and by paying them better, they will be less likely to go to a different company.

What matters most to you?
SUNTech SmartHome Solutions is about creating a renewable future for our customers and improving our environment for the future. I enjoy educating homeowners on something new, and I am building a legacy for my son. Houston is the energy capital of the world and it’s going to be the energy renewable energy capital of the world, and I want to be part of that movement. I’m excited to see everything that’s yet to come. Everything that is happening now, I spoke into existence and put in the work until I manifested it.

SUNTech not only retrofits homes now but we want to become smart home builders in the next 10 years. I have two-year, five-year, and 10-year+ plans for my business. No matter what can and will go wrong, we adjust. I’m building a legacy. I prioritize impact over income.
