Meet David Tepera of Ageless Muscle in League City

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Tepera.

David, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been around sports and fitness my entire life due to being raised by a father who was a high school football coach. I practically grew up in a gym and on playing fields. I actually went on to succeed and accomplish many feats throughout my childhood and adult life.

In 2016, my 17-year-old son Dylan and I competed in the NSpire Sports League – Houston competition to where I won two Pro Cards in Men’s Masters Beach and Athletic, thus becoming a professional athlete at the age of 55. Dylan also took 1st place in Teen Beach.

Since 2014, I’m honored in helping thousands of people each week through my motivational column in The Galveston Daily News, and from my book “Keep Moving and Improving.”

I spent 20 years in the medical orthopedic industry until resigning to dedicate my life with the sole purpose to inspire and motivate all people in their personal and business lives referencing sports, fitness and weight training.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In 2002, I became a single custodial parent of two children. They were in 2nd and 4th grade at the time. Dylan is now 20 years old and Daylyn 17 (almost 18). They are my drive in life to succeed and be the best role model possible.

Also, September 15, 2012, I lost my oldest son Specialist Dustin Ray Tepera to complications of PTSD after serving in the Army for four years. Dustin was at war in Iraq.

This devastating experience changed the lives of our entire family, but being the father, the burden was on me to maintain a normalcy. The task is too difficult to explain in few words, I only allowed myself to grieve in private.

When my youngest son Dylan and I compete in Physique contests, we wear Dustin’s dog tags in our posing trunks. Dustin is our motivation when times get difficult.

Listen, we all face different levels of adversity throughout our lives. It’s these challenges that will determine our destiny. Anyone can just lay on the canvas after being knocked down, but to win in life, you must shake off the dust and get back in the fight.

When the Lord chooses to take me, I won’t walk through the Pearly Gates unscathed, I’ll come tumbling and sliding in head first like Pete Rose into 2nd base. I’ll jump up and yell “Wow, what a ride that was!”.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Ageless Muscle story. Tell us more about the business.
At this time, I’m best known in several categories:
1) As a columnist for The Daily News, of Galveston County, my weekly motivation column helps people in their business and personal lives. I touch 10’s of thousands of readers each week, which has created a huge following.
2) My book “Keep Moving and Improving” – 100% of royalties are donated to The PTSD Foundation of America and Camp Hope of Houston Texas.
3) As the co-owner of Ageless Muscle, I give motivational talks to corporations, organizations, and many other venues.
4) Being the age of 57, plus my business partner Tina Turrentine age 45, Ageless Muscle specializes in helping the older population realizing that any age you can add lean muscle, and lead a healthy and happy life. We currently personal train people of all ages, including educating all our clients to the understanding of their own bodies through safe and proper techniques.

I also utilize 20 years in orthopedics to help some of our clients recovering from all joint replacements, ACL reconstruction, meniscal repairs, and much more.

Ageless Muscle offers programs for all ages, including couple training.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Several months back, I was a guest on a popular Houston radio talk show – The Michael Berry Show. This helped catapult our business into the spotlight.

With our Pro status, Tina and I have become well known in our area, including the gyms where we train. This has helped Ageless Muscle generate more clients, including a strong following on our social media.

Really, partnering with Tina several years ago has completely changed my life into creating a successful business.

Tina has a set of skills that I don’t possess, so we have equal value to offer people different ways of changing lives to reach their genetic potential.

The goal of Ageless Muscle is to continue networking and look for other opportunities to expand our brand. We feel that we can help other health and fitness companies build their market share as spokespersons and product models.

This is called “creating luck!”
