Meet Deana Richards

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deana Richards.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was employed as a Property Damage Claims Adjuster with a major auto insurance company when I decided to become an Independent Insurance Agent. I questioned my decision to make this huge career change, but my faith in God and my strong desire for helping others eliminated any fear I had. I have been in business for over a year now and doing very well for myself. What I love most about my job is that I am able to go from community to community and help educate families on the importance of protecting their most precious assets.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. Agents are commission-based, and building clientele can be the most difficult part of the job. It’s important to first build relationships so that there is a level of trust between you and your client and once that trust is there, not only will they want to conduct business with you, they will send you plenty of referrals.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
As an Independent Agent, I have had the privilege of teaching families the concept of how money works. I not only sell life insurance, but I specialize in helping to eliminate the need for it. I provide my clients with a complimentary financial needs analysis that shows them where they are financially and what steps are needed to meet their projected financial goals.

I am proud to be partnered with a company that is genuinely concerned about helping families acquire financial freedom while providing them with the necessary tools needed to make informed decisions regarding their finances.

My desire to deliver exceptional service is what sets me apart from other Insurance Agents. In this industry, it is important to build and maintain relationships with clients. In a world full of salespeople, something as simple as a birthday card or a follow-up phone call lets my clients know that they’ve made a great decision doing business with me.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
My business has been great but if If there was one thing I needed to have done differently, I would say my confidence or lack of. My fear of being told “no” may have hindered me from reaching my full potential in the first few months of being in business.
