Hi DeNeka, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Touch of Pizzazz Salon is dedicated to reviving and caring for natural hair and skincare. Every client is educated and familiarized in learning what works for their hair and skin with an initial consultation. We cater to kinks, curls, wavy hair textures and locs. We use natural and organic-based hair and skincare products that aid in the healing, growth and nourishment for each person who sits in the chair. I provide braids, twists, color, cuts, makeup and loc maintenance. Services are open to women, men and children. Adding a touch of pizzazz isn’t meant to change you but enhance you, “Where just a touch is enough!”
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Being a business owner has it’s ups and downs. Striving to maintain during a pandemic has been trying at times, but you do your best to deliver your services and maintain business in a healthy environment. I believe many people were trying to figure out what was going to happen next? Will this impact my client retention? Will I be able to keep my doors open?
Somehow, you keep pushing and doing what is necessary to keep your clients comfortable and safe with the best sanitation and disinfection practices as possible. Getting sick or being the place someone could potentially get sick can be frightening. I continue to maintain a focus on giving quality styles and care no matter what’s going on in the world. Sometimes being in the salon is an escape for many to relax, unwind and treat themselves.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a salon owner and licensed cosmetologist, I love to create for all my clients. I always suggest they peruse through sites for ideal looks for the hair and makeup they desire. I love a challenge and delivering on what they want.
When considering styling and new looks, it’s about making them feel confident and the look bring them to life. I pride myself on being honest with what complements them and what they are going for. I definitely want to make sure you are walking out the salon with a smile and a pep in your step.

I’m always wanting to create full concepts with photography work, events and so much more. I’m passionate about these things coming organically and honestly. I have been working on some things that will soon come to fruition, but definitely open to bigger and better ventures.
