Meet Desiree Blackshear of Moments of Purpose Event Planning in Spring

Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Blackshear.

Desiree, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always had a creative-detailed eye that has allowed me to execute my love for planning and organizing events. Fashioning memories for my friends and family through planning weddings, baby showers, birthday parties, dinner parties & workshops, I discovered my purpose, true love and passion was event planning. In early 2015 I decided I was going to launch my event planning company while still working in corporate America. In 2016 I was laid off from my job so I decided to step out on faith and work my business full-time. It has brought on a life changing experience but throughout the good and bad this was the best decision I ever made.

Has it been a smooth road?
Being entrepreneur brings many challenges as you grow as a company. In being a business owner there are so many elements that you don’t realize you will be responsible for. Planning events is my passion but the business side it what you forget about. Such as marketing your, being your accountant, and all the administrative duties. You have to learn all the jobs with being a small business owner.

Moments of Purpose is a Houston-based, chic and stylish firm, specializing in unique, sophisticated, spectacular weddings. destination weddings and event planning production. Our consultants are innovative and uniquely skilled at transforming your precise vision into an exquisite, lasting memory.

We take honor in making sure we are committed to giving each of our clients the time and support to ensure their event is an exclusive, rare and a once-in-a-lifetime event. We specialize in Day of Coordination and Destination weddings. We are able to plan your wedding and honeymoon because we are certified travel agents.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I see my staff growing in the future as well as us launch an event center that will host small weddings, baby showers, launch parties and so much more.

    They Literally were the perfect planners for us. We contacted them WEEKS before the wedding and they were on point from the first conversation.
