Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Alvarez.
Destiny, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
All my life, I have always been around such ambitious and hardworking women such as my grandma who actually had her own spa, my mom who has her own daycare as well as a tax business, and my other grandma who owns a daycare as well. So, the pressure and motivation were always there to make sure that I was just as successful as them. I knew I wanted to be a boss but I didn’t know just exactly what I was into to. I started off working at a body sculpting salon and I fell in love with how I was able to meet and make an impact on my clients’ lives with such little time as they did the same for me and my life. I had always said when I was younger that I wanted to have a career in which I helped people every day. Little by little I started realizing that I was doing just that by empowering each client I had. My mom starting realizing how much I loved what I was doing and how serious I was taking my job. She had told me she would help me get started and help me open up a beauty bar and I was so thankful that she believed in me that much. She has seen so much potential in me that I didn’t even see in myself. In June we made everything happen within a MONTH. I started off with a cute settle office that I could start taking clients in and would be able to afford. I didn’t know how I was going to get clients or how long it would take for business to start picking up. I started making it a routine to promote my business on social media daily and use all the hashtags in the world to try to get clients through the door. Sure, enough with word of mouth and social media, my business was picking up little by little. By December, I had outgrown my office with my clientele that was coming in. I had to get a bigger office within six months which was such a blessing to my clients and I because I was able to offer more services for them and make Luxe Beauty Barre a one-stop shop as well as a place that they look forward to going to. They were the reason why I had grown in such little time. They supported and believed in my small business and still do. I’m extremely blessed and honored that I’m able to make such an impact on women every day.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’m sure with every business, there is always going to be struggles. One of the struggles I went through in the beginning was slow times. I didn’t understand that there were going to be slow days and weeks but I made it through and managed to teach myself how to promote and what kind different sales to do when business is a little slow.

Luxe Beauty Barre specializes in Body sculpting. We use Lipo cavitation which is a non-invasive treatment that melts fat and sculpts the body. We are most proud of how loyal our clients are. Every client that comes in falls in love with their immediate results they get from our services.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan on having multiple locations of Luxe Beauty Barre. I want to able to empower more and more women everywhere not just in Houston.
