Meet Dewayne Crawford of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dewayne Crawford.

Hi Dewayne , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Dewayne Crawford is from Houston, Texas Tidwell on the northside, he’s an actor, director, and content creator. A former midwestern state university and University of Houston college football player, he transitioned into acting. He is best known for his roles in One Heart, Four My Brothers, and Shadows of My past. He is currently on the hit show on instagram “KitchenBae” written by Travis LaBranch where he plays Lew. Dewayne is making his break into the industry looking to work with heavy hitters in the business. Dewayne is also gearing up to shoot his own series “LEW”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all. The journey has been filled with uncertainty, financial pressure, self-doubt, and moments where I questioned everything about myself. There were times I was sleeping in cars, moving from place to place, trying to survive while still chasing a dream that most people couldn’t see yet.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a creative storyteller and multi-dimensional artist. My work mainly revolves around acting, photography, videography, and content creation, while also building my discipline and mindset. I specialize in creating cinematic, emotional, and authentic content that reflects real human experiences — pain, growth, transformation, and resilience.

As an actor, I naturally lean toward dramatic roles because I connect deeply with emotion and storytelling. I’ve taken acting classes, built professional reels, and continue developing myself both creatively and mentally. Behind the camera, I’ve worked as a photographer and videographer, capturing moments and helping brands and people tell their stories visually.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Finding a mentor is very important it will help you make the right decisions and guide you the right path.
