Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Gonzalez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m Diana Gonzalez. Owner of Born2Slay Fashion Jewelry. I began the journey of Born2Slay Accessories in 2017. It always has been a dream to create a platform for women like myself that is ALWAYS on the go with children and everyday lifestyles that don’t have spare time to shop for themselves in stores. I have been in the industry for over five years now (phew). I absolutely love fashion!
I admire fashion designers like Emilio Pucci, Gabrielle Bonheur, Coco Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Jimmy Choo, Giorgio Armani, Gianna Versace amongst other well-known designers in the industry. Dame Anna Wintour is an amazing inspiration
What fulfills me is seeing all the Women in my city and around the world looking their BEST and Slaying effortlessly with my pieces…my brand. That makes me beyond proud of the process, every effort, all the late nights early mornings, all the research is paying off. I have expanded my business to my native place in South America, Colombia, in a little town name (Buenaventura Valle del Cauca), which is where I’m originally from.
As a little girl back in my country, we had rented space below our home to a tailor, and I would watch them design clothes & sew them. Every extra piece of fabric left, they would give it to me to take home to create clothes for my dolls and accessorized them with any piece of jewelry they came with. My mom is also an amazing fashionista.
I absolutely love her style is chic is simply fabulous.
My biggest motivation are my children. I have two eleven-year-old twins (Boy & Girl) who are always giving props & gassing me up about everything I do, from selecting the best pieces for our boutique Born2Slay. My twins are my #1 fans & supporters. I couldn’t ask for more; along with my family and dear friends, my dreams have taken me this far.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Struggle comes with the territory. Nothing in life comes easy no matter what. The important thing is how you overcome the struggles and the takeaway from any situation.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Aside from being a business owner, I was in the Oil and Gas industry, which is big in Texas. I have been in this field for the past 13 years. I started as a receptionist, moved up to Admin., Then Executive assistant to now Accounting. What I’m most proud of is being able to pursue my dreams and achieve them. I’m not quite where I would like to be, honestly. However, I’m certain I will get there. I believe what sets me apart from everyone is my charm (lol) I’m very open and welcoming.
I’m always open to meeting new people and create relationships. I love to make everyone laugh; I can live up a room by just passing on great energy. I simply love to enjoy my surroundings with awesome positive, enchanting people.
