Meet Diana Sanchez of Taste of Mexico

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Sanchez.

Hi Diana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
We started this business from nothing we used all our little of our savings to purchase the equipment we needed to start working in backyard events or anything we could get our hands on while my husband and I working our full time jobs.

Our first employees were our 9-year-old daughter and our 12-year-old daughter and renting out kitchens go in back and forth on every event we have had in the past five years. We were thankful and grateful when we got our first venue and good reviews from our clients that open more doors so we were able to serve at different venues.

We are now here after 5 years in our self-finance restaurant with 10 employees working hard and always thanking God and our clients for all the support.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, having something good in your life requires several sacrifices in our case was not going out, not able to give ourselves a luxurious lifestyle such as going out on trips, taking the kids to movies, and to be working 100% with the kids which it was very hard on them but like we always tell them this is something that eventually is there and will pay for their future.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We offer authentic Mexican Food and we specialized in mainly that. We are known for tacos, Vegetarian tacos and much more we offer a big catering menu and just keep it simple at the restaurant but we are always offering different authentic Mexican Guisados.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was born and raised in Celaya, Guanajuato Mexico i came to the USA when I was 14 years old. My family had a business in the farmers market selling fruit and vegetables but then my dad move here for family reasons to California and then move to Texas back in 1989 and he decided that this will be the best place for us to be.

My self I always loved to cook it helps me with my stress and if people love my food it makes me happy because everything that I do I always do it with love. My grandma and My mom are both great cooks and that is where I get that from.
