Today we’d like to introduce you to Dorinda Obsta and Jenifer Stockdick.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Our story begins over a decade ago when we, Paul and Dorinda Obsta, along with our two daughters, Karlie & Kyra, decided to take a leap of faith and start our own plumbing business. We knew two things for sure when we started, we loved helping people and we knew how to plumb. With an open heart and sure-fire determination to make our community a better place, we opened Obsta Plumbing in 2010. Since our opening, through hard work and a strong desire to serve our community, we’ve been able to establish ourselves as one of the most trusted plumbing companies in the area simply because we care! For us, it’s more than just plumbing, it’s about taking care of our community. From the moment a customer calls our office for service until the job is finished, we want you to know what true dependability looks and feels like.
We don’t just want to make happy customers out of you. We want to making happy friends for life! We know our success is driven by our full staff of dedicated employees who bring decades worth of experience to our team. It’s those folks who come in each day to roll up their sleeves that help making the company the driving success that it is today. In 2020 we partnered with Jenifer Stockdick who is now the companies CFO. The community has come to expect the highest level of service from us because they know that experience matters. We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a roller coaster. Some years better than others. Sometimes the struggles were related to growth, some were related to hiring the wrong people, some were related to Hurricane Harvey and some were related to COVID.

What were you like growing up?
I’m the oldest so I was always the boss or in charge of younger siblings after parents were divorced and went back to college. Paul and I met in high school (Alief) and we got married in 2000. He is the nice guy, great customer pleaser and I am the office backbone and bad guy when a tough decision has to be made. I am strong-willed, stubborn and brutally honest but deeply care about those in my life including our employees. I love traveling and spending time with my family.
