Dr. Chi, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am Dr. Chi Mba, I pride myself as a compassionate dentist located in Missouri City (very close to Sugar Land). I am a Christian, wife and a mother of 5 children. I am committed to treating people the same way I want to be treated. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Houston Baptist University. With an intense interest in science, I enrolled in the Biochemistry Ph.D. program at Baylor College of Medicine. I quickly then discovered my desire to help people, and this led to a career as a college professor.
During my teaching career, I developed a real longing to utilize what I had learned in graduate school to make a direct contribution to humanity. This realization led her to the field of dentistry. I am afraid of the dentist (shh, don’t tell anyone). Because of my personal fear of going to the dentist, I am able to better serve my patients by providing dental services in a friendly, relaxing and comfortable environment. In order to help alleviate anxiety.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the hardest things I have had to do is going to dental school with 5 children. I was an associate dentist in Dallas, starting a new practice in Houston with no patients was very hard.
