Today we’d like to introduce you to Edit Faris.
So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born in a small town in Hungary and grew up during communism, which was very limiting to the individual and did not allow entrepreneurship. I had a huge desire to work for myself and was always full of ideas what could be done. So, after the circumstances changed and people were able to start their own businesses, that’s just what I did. I was in my early 20’s when I started my first business as a fitness coach, helping women lose weight. I met my husband while working for an American company as an interpreter, and were planning on settling down in my hometown. His job ended earlier than what we expected, so when he was offered a position back in Houston, TX, our little family of three had to change directions. I was grateful for the opportunity and looked at it as a new adventure. I tried to grow new roots while he was working, taking care of our growing family. However, my creative side called me to birth more than our three children. While browsing through the cake decorating section of Hobby Lobby, I found a Wilton magazine that absolutely fascinated me and signed up for a class. I had so much fun learning new techniques and playing with colors as if I was a kid again. I was always passionate about cooking and baking and figured starting a bakery would be a great outlet for that. I founded Dream Cakes Inc. and was very successful in creating wedding cakes for our brides all over Houston. After my divorce five years ago, I already knew I was ready for a change. To help me in the business building process, I hired a business coach and I discovered this very much needed, heart-based “helping profession”: coaching. I got certified as a life coach and later as a business coach. Today, I focus on helping women step into their feminine power.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Building my coaching business was not an easy road and getting clarity about which way do I want to take it was the hardest part. I consider myself the Renaissance Woman as I have so many interests and I’m passionate about learning and growing constantly. So, I was ready to help people in ALL areas of their life. Unfortunately, it does not work that way. From trial and error, I discovered what areas I was really excited about and I finally found the right niche that makes me feel ecstatic. I also had to learn who were the right clients for me and really focus on that target market. I fell in love with helping professional women over 40 who really want to make a difference in the world. I always say, that even coaches have coaches as we don’t know our blind spots. So, ever since I discovered coaching, I always had one. A skilled person can make a huge difference in how fast and easily we reach our goals and make changes in the desired areas of our life. I find it to be the biggest mistake people make that they don’t reach out for help. They try to figure out the problem on their own. While it is possible to figure it out, it is always a lot longer process, could take years and a lot more painful. It also costs a whole a lot more than hiring an experienced coach, when you take the time, energy and other resources spent into account trying to fix your problem.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Powerhouse Coaching story. Tell us more about the business.
I work with savvy professional women who are successful in a “man’s world”, being assertive and goal-driven. However, what brought them success in their career, unknown to them, is hurting their intimate relationships. They feel discouraged and dejected with dating, keep attracting the wrong kind of guy, feel that they intimidate their dates or current partners with their power. I help them step into their feminine power, become magnetically radiant, vibrant and give them the tools to understand and communicate with men in a way that makes them heard and seen. Strong, conscious, masculine men find feminine, powerful women incredibly irresistible. Equipped with the new skills and their radiance, they get on track creating the deep, intimate relationship they are longing for.
I too had to walk this path and I developed a signature system, “The Magnetic Radiance Blueprint – Light Your Inner Fire To Become Irresistible To Your Soulmate”. I brought all of my studies in this field together in one program to speed up the process for my clients, that took me years to figure out. I also created a support network and collaborate with other coaches and healers if my clients need additional help.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck had nothing to do with my business but serendipity did. The clearer I was in what I wanted to create, the more “happy coincidences” occurred and still are, bringing in people and opportunities that are supportive of my vision. This is inevitable when we know what we want and also are willing to take action.
