Meet Edith Hernandez of Cleveland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edith Hernandez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Personally I didn’t see my self in the floral business up until a year ago. My business partner Concepcion Fernandez Who is my aunt, she has over 15 years of experience and this is her passion and her dream was to open a flower shop. She has always been in love with her work and she does and amazing job. With all her experience she is able to create every arrangement very beautifully. At first I was just there to help her but now I’ve fallen in love with doing bouquet and I always get so excited to see the results and the customers reaction. Within a year of being open we have made many customers and we have been slowly growing.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been the smoothest road, we took a couple months to open due to permits and rearranging the place. At the beginning we weren’t getting many customers as expected but we’ve been growing within the last year

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We do flower arrangements for all types of events whether it’s centerpieces for a party or even an arrangement for a funeral. We always have a fully stocked fridge with beautiful arrangements just for a simple occasion of a birthday, anniversary or celebration. Not only can we do arrangements but we also do bouquets, right now they have become very popular. We also have balloons for any occasion.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
We took the risk of not knowing whether the business would be successful and we both left our full time jobs to fully dedicate ourselves into the business.
