Edward, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Five years ago, my daughter stayed at a prominent Houston Hotel for a religious weekend retreat. Upon pickup, she complained about a rash on her arms & legs. A trip to a pediatrician’s office yielded a prescription and a topical cream.
That night, I recalled seeing something on CNN about Dust Mites. After minor research, I discovered the harmful effects Dust Mite fecal matter has to our health like allergies, asthma, depression, headaches, itching and etc.
More research found a company in Florida that invented and manufactured an environmentally safe vacuum system that sanitizes mattresses without using water, steam or chemicals. I spoke to the manufacturer and learned that he sold his systems to 90 countries, where mattress sanitizing was popular and very few sales in the U.S.
I invested in the system, sanitized my mattress as well as friends and family. I noticed an immediate improvement with my allergies.
I incorporated, added business insurance, made business cards & flyers and started visiting hotels.
The vacuum system extracts all dirt, dust, skin follicles, dust mites, dust mite waste from within 6 inches deep of a mattress. Attached to the system is a UV-C light that destroys all bacteria, viruses, mold, etc.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My service was rejected by over 300 hotels before one hotel finally agreed. I knew it would be a number’s game and I was telling hotels they had problems where they didn’t think one exists. Plus, most hotels replace mattresses every 8 years. Plus, they work off of budgets and had not budgeted for my service. Plus, and this is the biggest plus; most don’t care about the health or comfort of their guests. (Hyatt, Omni, Marriott, etc.)

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I have 4 brothers and a sister. We played a lot of sports together. Great family vacations trapped in the back of a station wagon.
Pricing:
- My typical charge is $75. per mattress and $50. for everyone after that.
- I charge hotels $30 – $35 per room.
