Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin and Joe Severson and Rick and Eileen Jones.
Kristin and Joe started Cool Hands Heating & Air Conditioning in 2009. The company focused on being fair, honest and ethical. With only tools, truck and a credit card, it was built on word of mouth, referrals and networking. After being a two person company for 7 years, they partnered with Rick and Eileen Jones and began as Aire Serv of Houston Northwest. Their goal was to continue to provide the same level of service but to expand the company. Their code of values is based upon Respect, Integrity, Customer Focus and Having Fun in the Process.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a fairly smooth road and have learned much along the way. There are a few challenges that we still struggle with today.
With the ups and downs in weather, the HVAC industry is never smooth. We had to financially prepare ourselves for the slower seasons.
One of our challenges is that Joe has done such a great job taking care of our customers and being the face of the company, it is difficult to entrust our technicians with customers that have been loyal to us for so long.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Aire Serv of Houston Northwest – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a residential and commercial heating and air conditioning company. We specialize in repairs, new installation, maintenance and indoor air quality.
We have stayed true to why we started this business. We wanted a company that our customers could trust. We always want to give the customer all of their options so they can choose the option that is best for them.
One of our accomplishments that we are proud of is after Hurricane Harvey, we were looking for a way to help. We decided to help cook and feed people that were affected by Harvey, first responders and volunteers. We cooked for 5 days straight 24 hours a day and with the help of family, friends, neighbors, customers, and volunteers, we fed over 3,800 meals.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We currently have two trucks and plan to add a third in the near future. We have begun adding benefits for our employees which we have never been able to do in the past. Also, we have been working out of our home office for the past 9 years and in April of this year we will be moving to a new location. We are very excited about these big changes and the opportunity that it gives us for future growth.
