We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There is no doubt that the COVID-19 pandemic has added to small business challenges around the world regardless of size, location, or funding. However, I choose people over profit – resume writing is a passion of mine to empower persons to successfully get through the Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to obtain their dream job. This season of my business has experienced many obstacles in the beginning of Covid, with many persons losing their jobs, so I began volunteering many services to unemployed job seekers as my way of paying it forward. Through blessing others, God saw fit to enlarge my territory and my revenue has increased significantly.
In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity! I chose to take the opportunity to become better in my craft and achieve more learning while also becoming a more hands-on mother to my daughter for her virtual learning. So, I have learned that The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it. I undoubtedly give all the glory to God!
Please tell us about Wordsmith Resume Writing & Interview Prep.
With years of Human Resources experience firsthand, I proudly provide services such as career coaching, resume writing, interview preparation, salary negotiations, public speaking, and LinkedIn optimization. I am most proud of being a servant leader in my community and resilient as a mother while balancing working full time as an HR Manager and owning my own company. I do not feel it sets me apart from any other mother that would do anything to take care of her cubs though; women are fearless nurtures with natural hustler resources. I am extremely proud to be a woman-owned business.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I will not say I am lucky but that I am indeed blessed! I have seen better days, but I have also seen worse. I do not have everything that I want, but I do have all that I need. My organic network has helped my business so much with the word of mouth referrals.
