Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My nail journey started 4 years ago while I was trying to start my craftsmanship, even though I was still working a regular 9-5 job, I still wanted something that would bring me extra income. I decided to tap into my love for nails since I had always done my nails myself and got compliments. I got comments from people asking where I got my nails done and most people suggested I do it as a business when they found out that I did them myself. I took that and ran with it! I started off in my apartment 4 years ago and now I’m a proud owner of a store front nail salon called ‘BIBI’s NAIL BAR”
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Honestly, it was not a smooth process transitioning from my apartment to a store front. starting a nail salon requires a lot more than you can imagine. one of the challenges I faced was getting licenses and permits, and dealing with contractors and so on. Trying to get more clientele on the nail salon level because I quickly realized that clientele as an independent nail tech is different from that of a nail salon in the sense that as an independent nail tech I could decide how many customers I see in a day, where as in a nail salon that is not the same since I service more people than I normally would.

Bibi’s Nail Bar specializes in nail services such as; acrylic nail extensions, Gel nail enhancements, manicures, pedicures, Gel-X nail enhancements, press on nails, structured manicures, one-on-one nail classes, lash extensions, and eyebrow waxing/tinting. We also offer table rentals to other independent nail technicians. We are known for tailoring each client to their desired nail style while offering complimentary drinks to enhance their experience. My proudest moment is when I am done with a client’s nails and they look at the work of art on their hands and I can see the excitement and satisfaction in their faces. Bibi’s Nail Bar offers a one stop shop for self-care from getting our relaxing milk and honey pedicure, to getting a French tip full set, and finishing off with a classic lash set or brow wax.
Any big plans?
My future plans for Bibi’s Nail Bar is to add more services to our already versatile menu such as; micro-blading, full body massages, full body wax, etc. I also want to offer nail classes on a larger scale instead of just a one-on-one class.
