Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily June Spanos.
Emily, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I went to Baylor University in Waco for university and moved to the Montrose area after college. I haven’t left the Inner Loop since. After over a decade of providing interior design solutions to Houston clients, I embarked upon my own business journey with the start of Emily June Designs in 2016.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always bumps in the road when starting a business! We really started to really grow post – Harvey here in Houston and I had just given birth to my son, Dino. I couldn’t turn down the work so I just had to roll with it and grow with a baby in tow sometimes! I remember I would be pumping while my intern drove me to our next client meeting – it was a crazy time.

Emily June Designs is a luxury full-service design firm that specializes in the use of color patterns and all things unique and fun! We are known for our skill of blending textures, patterns and colors in unexpected new ways. My mantra for our company is “banish the beige.” People tend to feel that statement means you have color everywhere, but it’s more about banishing beige – and the blah – from your home and your life. People have such vibrant lives -your home needs to reflect that and bring the life that you live into your home.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I believe giving remarkable client experiences have been instrumental to my company’s success. Extraordinary customer service is hard to find! By delighting and surprising our clients at every point in our design process, we create lasting relationships for years to come.
