Meet Eric LeDay of Tha Liv’n Room

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric LeDay.

Hi Eric, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Funny story, in 2006 I used to always go to a club my older cousin used to promote which was very popular and just buy drinks and bottles all night…till I realized that I could make money versus spending money each night, so one Friday night…

Of course, I was still sauced up lol and my cousin gave me a stack of flyers to pass out and I didn’t think anything of it because I was like I’m helping my cousin right…then I went back inside to let him know I finished and was going home and he gave me I think $75 I paused and then said… what’s this for (we grew up having to work for our money, lol) and he said this is for “hitting the streets for promo”. I had no idea people paid for that.

So after that, it kind of fueled this fire in me to keep going. And that sparked the flame of Eric LeDay.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Thankfully the road has been rough, some of the biggest challenges that I have faced along the way have been to decide if I wanted to stay in corporate America or continue in nightlife and hospitality in restaurants.

So I was faced with a decision of either keeping a consistent check from a 9-5 or a 50/50 chance in the “nightlife”.

Then there is facing multiple patrons and personalities which could quite frankly make or break you mentally.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The Liv’n Room is basically a place where nostalgia meets chic details. You’re met with great scents..decor and nice cocktails and even better customer service.

We don’t do the norm when it comes to hospitality, everyone has their own personality and they are allowed to be themselves to give you one of Houston’s top-tier bar + lounge experiences. This is simply put a venue that is “small enough to be intimate, but big enough to matter”.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I attribute much of my success to first God for giving me a spirit to see things through and never give up, and to anyone that I meet because I listened to Houston.

But notable I have to credit Corey LeDay, Al Mitchell, David Anderson, Jermaine Patterson, Ed Hamb, Dejuan MqQueen, and Ronald Green. If you know them then I guess you can say I’m well-rounded.
