I got started while climbing the corporate ladder for a national senior living company. Being from Chicago, I’m a city girl with big city dreams, but I learned that ladder was exhausting and…well, I don’t like anyone telling me what to do! (LOL)
I identified a huge need in the industry and decided to build a company to service senior citizens and their families during one of life’s most stressful moments all while being FREE to the client! Senior citizen are the forgotten population that’s ignored or pitied. Seniors are aging and it’s such an interesting and exciting industry to be in. Because of this, I’m busy these days! (Thank GOD).
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely NOT! I would say that I went through the same mental struggle every entrepreneur encounters. Leaving a consistent paycheck was the biggest obstacle. I think once you turn your mindset to be self-sufficient in order to improve not only your life but the community as well, your hustle turns all the way up. Looking back, it was worth it and makes success even more sweet.

A Perfect Fit locates top senior living communities tailored to each client’s needs. Think of us as apartment locators, but for luxury senior living communities. Most often it’s the caregiver or responsible party that’s seeking placement for a loved one during an inconvenient time. Not knowing what to ask, what to look for and multiple options being sold at once makes it a daunting task. We simplify the process, save time, and offer a proactive approach to finding the perfect community.
Because we’re local, our specialty is literally insider knowledge. It’s one thing to listen to a sales reps with expensive brochures, but it’s another thing to know what community’s truly offer a safe environment with caring staff and happy residents. I’m proud of the growth that my company has had. It’s confirmation that I’m doing what I’m meant to do while helping people. There are several things that set us apart from other companies. For starters, I tour each community WITH my client. I don’t just give them a list of places that meet their criteria and tell them to tour. I narrow down the BEST 3 options, arrange the tours, and go along as their liaison to ensure they leave no stone unturned. That’s how my clients are able to pick the community that’s a perfect fit.
I have a realtor on staff that’s also a licensed Senior Relocation Specialist. She’s wonderful and our clients love her. Normally, they’re moving from the home they raised their family in and don’t know where to start. She helps them downsize, sell their home or find renters. I’m amazed at the resources she has, seriously, it’s impressive. Lastly, I work with Wealth Advisers such as Merrill Lynch so my clients can have a realistic idea of how much senior living they can afford long term. Senior living communities like to partner with me for that reason as well. They prefer a client that stays indefinitely versus a few months to a year.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
For the future, I plan to hire more staff so I can start to expand to other markets in Texas. I love what I do and the direction the company is going, so the goal is to grow and service our aging population.
