Meet Erin Cummings and Tiffany Geach of YESyoga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Cummings and Tiffany Geach.

Erin Cummings and Tiffany Geach knew each other from a mommy-and-me world of fitness and played places, but started to become friends outside of their kids’ lives. Erin went into teacher training, and Tiffany went to support her in some of her classes. Tiffany got back into yoga and did her own teacher training.

It seemed a natural progression of things and pretty soon they were both saying things like “If we had our own studio, we would….” or “You know what would be a cool thing for a studio to do…” YESyoga was born way before there were doors to open and lights to turn on. It is the result of years of learning, growing, friendship, and a calling to being more.

Erin and Tiffany chose to say YES to being more than just moms, friends, and yogis — to being a place for our community to thrive.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There has definitely been a learning curve in opening up a studio. We originally had another location fully planned, drawn, and submitted for permitting. We loved our architect and the space we originally created, but couldn’t come to an agreement with the Landlord on lease terms. We scrapped everything, we said no to almost a complete job.

It pushed us back roughly six months and cut way into our budget, but we wouldn’t change a thing. We had the opportunity to practice the tools we talk about from before the studio doors were even open. “Sometimes saying ‘no’ opens you up to a bigger YES” – Baron Baptiste. Living a life of YES started from us and extends throughout the studio.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
YESyoga is about more than taking a yoga class, we’re about saying yes to the possibility of more in your life. We live dynamic lives, caring for others, navigating careers, maintaining friendships, and we know the value of self-care. We love power yoga.

YESyoga is about creating community through sweat, hard work, reflection, and laughter. Because we know that, YES, you are ready. We are a power yoga studio located in the heart of Sugar Land. We offer more than just yoga, we have babysitting seven days per week. We also have internal programs for our staff and teachers to help them lead empowering classes.

What we are most proud of as a company is what sets us apart from others, our goal is to create happy, confident, self-aware people not to fund our bottom line. It all goes back to starting with us, two moms who want other people to feel happy, worthy, and find their passion.

What were you like growing up?
Erin and Tiffany were both heavily involved in dance in some capacity, and they both left full-time careers to be mothers.

Erin grew up in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from Wichita State University. She was not only involved in dance but also swimming. She held a few officer positions in her sorority, Delta Gamma. She’s stubborn, hardworking, and loves to be creative (decorator, photographer, and graphic artist).

Tiffany grew up in Pearland, TX and graduated from Texas A&M, later received her Masters’ Degree in Belgium.

Tiffany worked for Hearst Newspapers and taught AP English. She always finds a way to stay calm in stressful situations (probably from having four kids), considers running multiple miles a day “meditative,” and always finds a way to support others.
