

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Raulerson.
Erin, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, I started learning to groom at 18. I learned college wasn’t for me but I needed to do something. Then I found my passion in pet grooming! Over the years I have progressed in my field attending conventions and classes and lots and lots of learning on the job! I have worked in about four to five different grooming salons and none of them were owned by groomers. I truly feel that has an effect on you and your pet’s experience, and I want to change that narrative in the industry. There is such a disconnect between pet owners and pet professionals that I want to fix. Grooming can be fun for everyone involved! I want to style pets so that owners fall in love with them all over again. I get thrills from hearing owners squeal at how cute their pets look in the bows or bandanna or even the bedazzles and then how appreciative they are that I’m not handing the dog back and collecting a check. I develop relationships! And I want all this to happen in an environment where the pets and their owners are all comfortable happy and safe! I believe that my passion for all these things will be the reason why I get to where I’m trying to go. When I began my current chapter in my business, I was fired. But getting fired was the best thing that ever happened to me!!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No not at all. I was fired! And that’s actually the third time I was fired. But I wasn’t coming back this time. That business relationship felt like a bad boyfriend and I had finally had enough.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Red Velvet Pets Mobile Grooming story. Tell us more about the business.
My business is a mobile pet grooming service based around customer service and convenience. In addition to not having to leave the house and getting awesome communication, you get your money’s worth. I go the extra mile to put the finishing touches. Most of my new clients go to my page and are attracted by the bows bow ties feathers jewels etc. and I truly enjoy how much they love it.
