Meet Ermia Hamidzadeh of Luxure Sauvage in Sugar Land

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ermia Hamidzadeh.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, I was the black sheep of my family. I wasn’t the greatest student, always got in trouble and I wasn’t a fan of homework or studying. I was a dreamer. I used my days to visualize and plot how I would accomplish my dreams.

As a young kid my main motive was to make lots of money like most kids, so at 18yrs of age I enrolled into the firefighting program and two years later realized that wasn’t for me, I enrolled into a junior college where I was going to try to go to dental school since my sister is a dentist and that’s where my mom really wanted me to go, but after a year in school I realized it wasn’t for me and I wanted to go back to chasing money so I dropped out. I then became a realtor at 21 and a year later realized my heart just wasn’t in it.

Months later, I then became a car salesman and yet again it just wasn’t where I was meant to be, and life took a crazy turn after I quit working at Nissan. I was in my first serious relationship, and I come from a successful hard working family and so did she and education and having a college degree was a must for both sides of our families and sure enough, I had dropped out of college which everyone frowned upon. Long story short, she had become my main source of happiness because I had nothing going for myself and decided to give college another try to make both families happy.

As months went by my relationship was going left and I realized I hated who I was becoming and broke up with my girlfriend at the time, and slowly went into depression. I remember sitting in music class being the oldest kid in the room, and thinking to myself “wow, is this what my life has come down to? I’m miserable”, and I remember having a flashback to an argument I had with my sister at the age of 21 and told her “watch by 25 I’ll be something huge, and we’ll see who says what then” and sure enough 25 was right around the corner.

At that point, I got up and walked out of class and dropped out for a SECOND time. At this point, depression had hit me hard, and life didn’t mean much to me anymore. I was sitting on the couch and I remembered my sister always asking me “what are you good at in life?” and truthfully I could never answer that. So as I was sitting there I asked myself that, and I knew a few things. I enjoyed drawing, fashion, but could never afford the styles I liked and I had a passion for the finer things in life. So I was like you know what people always say you can become whatever you set your mind to, and as long as you give it your all and work for it anything is possible so let’s see if that’s true or not.

At that moment, I decided to use myself as a lab rat and go all in to pursue my dream as a “luxury” fashion designer with the hopes of becoming the next Louis Vuitton, and have all the celebrities wearing my clothes. So I realized my passion was for the things I lusted after but my fear of failure always held me back so I was going to set myself free and run wild after my dreams and I came up with the name “Wild Lust” but in English it didn’t sound as cool so I was like let’s see how you say wild lust in French and that’s how I got the name Luxure Sauvage. The second I heard the translator on google say the name my heart started beating fast and I just saw my whole future in that name within 60 seconds.

Sure enough, I borrowed $1k from my sister did all the paperwork and bought a bulk order of hoodies with my brand’s name across it and told people that Luxure Sauvage was a luxury brand. Most laughed and told me to calm down that these were premade hoodies off some site and they weren’t luxury, but for me, I saw them as so much more. I saw them as the start to Louis Vuitton’s competition. Despite what I was told it was in one ear and out the other and I bullied my way into people’s minds that this is a luxury brand and sure enough sold every hoodie and those people that bought those hoodies to this day still message me saying it’s one of their favorite hoodie’s they’ve ever owned.

So I ended up making money and I thought I could finally get a manufacturer to work with me, and I ended up literally calling every manufacturer in the states and they all laughed and turned me the down saying “kid if you don’t have some real money don’t even bother, go after another dream” and I remember that really broke my heart. Right when I was about to give up I came across a manufacturer in China and emailed them and we talked and they gave me exactly what I wanted, which I give all credit to God for that.

Shortly after that, I got my first unit and I thought they were the coolest clothes ever and for four months nobody supported and I was so confused as to why? Weeks after one of my friends bought a few shirts for his birthday and fell in love with them and got lots of compliments, so he hit me up wanting to invest in the brand and be a part of it. I took that money bought more units and we hit our first expo in San Jose and I was so nervous because I just took all this money and gambled it all away and nobody even knew who we were.

I remember it being two-day day event and we sold out the FIRST day and on the last day this guy came up to me at our booth and goes “I want one of those shirts you’re wearing, how much?” And I said I’m sorry sir we’re all sold out and he goes “well then I want that one you’re wearing” I thought he was joking, but he sure wasn’t so I took it off and he bought it full price! Shortly after that, my friend that was helping me sent out some emails, and we got an email back that Meagan Good was interested in us sponsoring her Halloween party and we were all in shock!

So we flew out to LA and made that happen and I ended up meeting my manager there, and we clicked instantly and fast forward a few more celebs started reaching out and later we got a deal with this store in California which is a high end boutique and a lot of celebrities shop there and Jamie Foxx started shopping from the brand along with NFL players, Laker’s players, signed Solo Lucci from LHHH, along with few other celebrities that shopped, and found me on Instagram asking me for clothes and that they’d promote in return, it’s crazy because I’ve never paid for marketing. Our brand is so different that instead of us reaching out to celebs they reached out to us and helped promote which I’m blessed and thankful for.

The reason for having all these celebrities means so much to me is because when I first started my mom told me “How do you expect to succeed with a clothing brand when you don’t have the funds, don’t know anyone nor do you know any celebrities that could help you and even celebrities fail often when they try to start their own brand” so that def motivated me to make sure I get a few celebrities! My point with all this is I’m not a glass house, my confidence and faith is very strong and I’m a firm believer in the law of attraction and my goal was to show people how real it is, and that’s how we are where we are today.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Haha, it’s been far from a smooth road. I’ve been doing this for almost two years now, taken some risks that even my mom loses sleep over that I’m not ready to share yet. It’s taken a toll on me physically, emotionally and mentally, because what was once a passion has now become an obsession and anytime you’re obsessed with something you take every situation to a whole new level.

I’m never satisfied, it’s always okay what’s next, and that’s my mentality on the daily. Things don’t always go perfect or work in my favor. People make false promises and sell you a dream, and you go all in to find out it was just a fake door that you had hopes of leading you to the next level, but you can’t let those moments bring you down, that’s where your confidence and faith comes in.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I’m a luxury fashion designer. I specialize in making high-quality clothes with a unique design to let the world know we’re next. I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished and how we’ve an accomplished it with the limits that we have in such a short amount of time. It’s insane to think about.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My confidence and faith and my mom and sister being my motivation to never give up, and now that my sister’s having a baby that motivation just went up to another level because I’m going to make sure he lives in a fairytale childhood.
