Today we’d like to introduce you to Eve Low.
Eve, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I began blogging while I was in middle school. My mother is a blogger as well and wanted me to find a way to express myself. We had just moved to America from Malaysia and I was struggling to adapt to my new life in Houston. She thought maybe it would be a good idea for me to try blogging. I could write whatever I wanted to write about and dress myself the way I thought best represented who I was. I was initially reluctant since it felt like an obligation and a chore. It was only until I turned 15 that I became more serious about it. Blogging became a way of de-stressing and self-expression that I continue to do today alongside other social media platforms.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I struggled to find my own style and voice. Almost everyone goes through awkward phases in their life and I am no exception. I found it hard to blog about anything because I felt as though I didn’t know who I was. I would be super girly in pink one day and then be dressed in skulls with spikes the next. But now I know that all those “weird phases” were just me trying out various styles in an effort to figure out what I liked. While I initially felt as though I had nothing unique or authentic to talk about, I now have plenty to say.
The World According to Eve – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The World According to Eve is a blog centered around what’s currently going on in my life and the fashion style I have as well. I like to think that I am unapologetically myself and somehow, through seeing how I am unafraid to be who I am, that others will be inspired to try to be themselves too.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I don’t think there’s one particular moment I am proudest of, but rather of the fact that I have managed to continuously develop content that I am genuinely passionate about. Particularly during the school year when the workload increases.
