Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabian and Ivan Salazar.
Fabian and Ivan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Our Fitness Journey began at Bally Total Fitness in 2010 as a personal trainer where we discovered the power and influence fitness can have in an individual’s body. At the time we took the stereotypical approach to training and just tried to beat the crap out of clients. We soon discovered that we were just tearing everyone’s bodies down and not being mindful to the actual goal which was to feel better and move better. And so, the real journey began which is still going by the way.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it has not been easy. The biggest challenge has been life and everything else that comes with it. Personalities, employees, and sticking to what YOU believe to be your truth no matter what everyone else thinks. Along the way, you learn who to listen to and who not to listen to. Then comes the growing pains of business ownership and doing things the right way. All these lessons cannot be learned any other way but to go through them yourself.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Fit Factor – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The Fit Factor Method is a combination of personal experiences and a collection of ideas from some of the best in the industry that stem from the underlying problem of movement quality. Aiming to bridge the gap between athletes and the rest of the population we try to convey to the clients that physical autonomy is attainable with the right dosage of structure, specificity, and mindfulness. This science-based exercise program is meant to show the resilience of the human body and to show that all humans can do extraordinary things no matter what limitations you possess.
Our company really emphasizes on the idea of not being a jerk to your own body. We use a combination of scientific methods known as CARS (Controlled Articular Rotations) PAILs (Progressive Angular Isometric Loads) and RAILs (Regressive Angular Isometric Loads) created by Dr. Andreo Spina. This method of training over time will lead to adaptations within the given structures. After the body feels capable of accepting different types of loads or stimulus we start adding other types of training which include, functional training, mobility, calisthenics, plyometrics, sports performance, or Pilates. We are thankful to be partnered up with Dominic’s Ultimate Pilates Studio.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We want to continue to pursue the ever so evolving concept of wellness. We want to make sure anyone who comes in contact with Fit Factor understands that they can too take possession of their own health. We look forward to working with some of the best in the field and getting our name out there.
