Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabiola Requena.
Fabiola, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
To be honest, I am definitely just starting. Though, I can definitely see God preparing me all this time. My mother became a hairdresser when I was little so for most of my life, I’ve been surrounded by the cosmetology world. I’ve known that I would one day become a part of that world. So of course, I took the Cosmetology program my high school offered. There I learned the foundation of cosmetology. At 19 I welcomed my son and completely immersed myself in motherhood and being a wife. Years later, the life I had turned upside down in every aspect. It was until I understood to fully trust God that I gave Him my all, including fear.
Since then, I like to think I’m on a roll. It started with allowing to heal and it’s been evolving to more. I began working part-time with the school district and quickly got promoted to full time, I took my last exam needed for my cosmetology license, invested in a Lash Extension course and recently, (FINALLY) took the leap to rent a suite at The Glamour House with Electra Solis! I am now fearless with my dreams, confident in the steps I am taking to achieve them and grateful for the people surrounding and encouraging me. Above all, I am trusting God.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. I wouldn’t be so confident in my career if I didn’t take the time and effort to push through personal issues. Life has been challenging. But it quickly spiraled when I went through separation and eventually divorce. That was challenging as a mother, wife and woman. When I began adjusting to my new life, life hit me again. This time as a daughter. My father was murdered in Mexico in 2017. That has been a different pain and grief. Unlike other lows, this grief remains and if you let it, it completely paralyzes you. But God. He has been showing me He can use every low, hurt, loss and even this grief to create beauty in my life. In the midst of grief and emotions that accompany it. I realized 1. God IS walking with me and 2. I’m on the other side of a fear of mine. One of my worst fears to be exact. I did lose my dad, yet despite this intense loss I am here…alive. So why do I fear the things I do? Why do I fear failure? Why is becoming an entrepreneur so daunting to me? Heck why are the fears in my head valid?? It was in those moments that I began harnessing my losses and fears. It’s a process but it’s revitalizing and needed to continue. As an entrepreneur this has given me the gift of being fearless and relentless with my dreams and goals.

I love my client’s reaction when they first see their lashes. I also enjoy the challenge in learning lash techniques. I recently introduced Express Facials using KUL CBD products and Hydrojelly masks. I definitely enjoy pampering my clients with this service! Though, I am new to entrepreneurship, I am proud and grateful that I am starting my business at The Glamour House! Electra not only provides a space for us to start/grow our business in an insta worthy place, we’re also surrounded by empowered woman AND Electra is an awesome mentor too! I believe the combination of all these things like location, quality in products and education, mentorship as well as personal growth is setting me apart.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being fearless and relentless with my dreams and goals. For that I have to trust God with everything. It’s easier said than done but it’s a life changer! Deciding and becoming an entrepreneur takes work but knowing He is paving my way at all times reassures me and at times makes it effortless. This mind shift has allowed me to redirect my focus on solutions instead of problems. It has also emphasized how I am being surrounded by people who encourage mentor and contribute to my career and personal growth!
