Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabricio Marin.
Fabricio, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Taking a trip down memory lane, I started my Instagram page @houston_carmeets on March 17, 2019. I began reposting all the local car events that were happening here in the city of Houston. I had no goals or intentions when I first started. I felt like I could never find any car meets to go to. Towards the end of 2019, my follower count started to quickly pick up from a couple hundred to a couple thousand. I began to take this side passion of mine as a business. I began to continuously be active in the car community, attending all the events I could fit into my schedule. I’ve now shifted all my focus into growing my business, last week, I experienced the most significant growth the page has seen since I started almost a year ago.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been easy dedicating so much of my time to running this business. I have to search for the events to post actively, it takes up a lot of my free time. Not only that, but I have to answer any messages, comments, emails. However, I don’t mind. I love what I do. This was a fun hobby I started in High School. I was able to take something out of nothing and create a business around it.
Please tell us about your business.
My business is all about the car community. I am the one who people go to for car events happening here in Houston. Thru the following I created, I’m able to share these events with thousands of people. We are proud to be able to work with our partners to host car events at their locations. A recent example would be filling up the entire parking lot at a local performance shop.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Something I’d do is be more active. At first, I wouldn’t put much effort or time into it. It took me a while before I realized I had all the tools I needed to make something happen.
