Today we’d like to introduce you to Fanchon Rathers.
Fanchon, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My grandmother used to make gift baskets for all occasions and I remember assisting her and seeing the outcome and the responses from the customers was priceless. She also cooked for large parties and of course, I was there along-side her watching and asking questions. Once my grandmother got diagnosed with ovarioan cancer and could no longer do what she enjoyed, I decided to take on the gift basket/catering business.
Has it been a smooth road?
For the most part, the holidays are my busiest, such as Valentines, Mother’s Day, Easter and back to school/graduations. I also picked up orders here and there for birthdays and get well baskets. I don’t really think I’ve struggled along the way. There are days were I don’t get orders but when I do, I enjoy it. I love to challenge my mind and really think outside the box… Put my all into it.
We’d love to hear more about Creative Creations by Chon.
I am the “Creator”/owner of Creative Creations by Chon. I came up with the name because each of my baskets are very creative. I specialize in gift baskets, of course, but I also cater for small to medium size parties/gatherings. I am definitely known for my creativeness. I am most proud of me challenging myself to go the extra mile and make my customers smile. I am set apart from others because, as stated, I think outside the box. I don’t always use baskets. I try to use things that I think the customer will use and not just take the goods out and toss the basket to the side.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like how diverse my city is. I can’t really think of a negative thing to say. I mean I was born and raised and I love my city #HoustonStrong.
Pricing:
- Usually I start my baskets at $15 but I am very flexible and can work with budgets. You tell me your spending limit and I’ll try my best to accommodate it.
