Today we’d like to introduce you to Father Anthony Baba.
Hi Father Anthony, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been in the ministry since I was in college, and after graduating from the University of Houston, I attended Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Seminary in Boston, MA. After graduating from Seminary, I was hired to be the Youth Director at St. George Cathedral in Wichita, KS. After serving in that capacity for four years, I was ordained as a priest and transferred to St. Anthony Orthodox Church and have been serving as the Pastor since 2010.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There’s always challenges, but the family and friends I’ve been surrounded by have always lifted me up along the way. Marrying my lovely wife, Ramia, has been one of my greatest, if not the greatest blessings in my life! We’re blessed to raise three wonderful children who are maturing into the wonderful teenage years, which has its own struggles.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m just a priest. I serve a parish of approximately 250 families, and it’s a joy for me to be with people in their happiest moments of life and an honor for me to be with them in their saddest moments.
