Meet Felicia Kelly of Rich Black Brand

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicia Kelly.

Hi Felicia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Even from a young age. I’ve always known that I was destined to be rich and successful. As a six-year-old, it was known throughout the family that any junk mail that came into the house was for me so that I could fill out the forms for my “business.”

What I didn’t know was how many bumps and bruises would come while building a life of substance and purpose. During my senior year of high school, I worked full-time- all while playing a sport and taking night classes twice a week. I’m no stranger to hard work, but when I got to college, things just weren’t working out for me. I had to choose between working to support myself and continuing to attend school so after 18 months of college, I dropped out. I didn’t realize it then, but this was when my journey to becoming a Rich Black Woman officially began. It was at that time I landed a job in the car business and that turned out to be the best career decision I’ve ever made. I climbed my way through the ranks quickly from a salesperson to becoming a finance manager, then a sales manager. Before I knew it I was thriving in corporate creating training programs for auto-dealers and their staff. Despite my rapid success, I knew there was more I should be focused on when it came to my purpose. During my time as a finance manager, I launched my online coaching business, but I didn’t take it seriously because my 9-to-5 was extremely comfortable. After doing some self-reflection, praying, and then realizing that I couldn’t place small anymore, I left that comfortable corporate career and became a full-time entrepreneur. That leap led to me building a thriving coaching company and helping multiple women earn 7 figures before finally launching my speaking and influencer career.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This road has been anything but smooth! From having to learn how to market in new industries, surviving a pandemic, and learning to say no to opportunities that don’t serve me or my community- there are obstacles at every turn. The most troubling thing for many Black Women to overcome is learning to believe in themselves at higher levels. I often tell people, “I trust God enough to believe in myself!” There is a reason that I have gifts and skills, but many times we don’t realize that just because you have a skill or gift doesn’t mean you know how to do business. I had to learn how to put the business and it’s needs before my feelings. That in itself has been the biggest challenge in my six years of business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Rich Black Brand?

Our goal is to show you that you are RICH ALREADY and help you activate those riches to create a life of unlimited abundance.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, it’s fair to say that I was a loudmouth! I still am! Even as a kid, I was very communicative, spoke up for myself, and was always the person who fought the bullies on behalf of those who didn’t have the confidence to stand their ground.

Because I was interested in math and learning new words, I considered myself a nerd. I never viewed that as a bad thing because I believe that my inquisitive personality is what helps me as a strategist to this very day.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved spending time with family, sitting by the ocean, and doing a little shopping before dinner, just like many other southern girls. And I still do!
