Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicia Stevens. Her and her team share their story with us below:
Felicia Stevens grew up in the mortgage industry. When she was nine, she was running the copy room at her mother’s office because helping was cheaper than daycare. At a young age, she fell in love with the impact helping someone purchase a home can have. She graduated from The Woodlands High School and later received her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University. She currently lives in The Woodlands, Texas with her daughter and her four-legged children (cats) Stormie and Junior.
Some of Felicia’s favorite things are: Proverbs 31, baking, traveling, Disney, animals, holidays, and George Strait!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I took several months off recently to care for a parent in hospice. He is a Vietnam Veteran. To say he made a large impact on me and anyone he encountered is a gross understatement. I am now shifting my focus to helping as many Veterans as possible. They make me feel closer to him. He always would ask me how many loans I had in my pipeline. When I had a lot, he would light up and give me the “proud look” that I strived for.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My mother deserves a lot of credit for raising me to have a strong work ethic. There is that funny quote about parenting then vs. now. “Y’all weren’t raised like us, my Mama killed me one time.” This is so fitting. She expected and pushed me to be the best version of myself constantly. At the time, I didn’t like it but I am extremely thankful now.
