The story of how Flashbar Photo Booth was started. I (Travis Walker) had the idea for a DIY photo booth for my wedding. The day of our wedding, there was so much going on, I actually ended up forgetting the batteries for the camera and our DIY photo booth was a complete failure. Even though I failed at having a photo booth for my wedding, I enjoyed the process of bringing everything together and I knew I could do this in a way that others would enjoy. In that moment, I decided to start my own photo booth company. After the honeymoon, of course 🙂
Has it been a smooth road?
When you’re a small business owner, it’s never a smooth road. You have to be the accounting department, sales, marketing, IT support, and much more. The biggest challenge has been finding balance in our personal lives with Flashbar. Byron has a family and I have a wife that I have to make time for. We also have full time jobs, and coming home from a full day of work and having to invest time to events, emails, vendor meetings, building the website, and so on, can be very difficult. However, figuring it all out is the beauty of being a business owner and we’ll continue to work hard and enjoy the process.

I love Houston because it’s Home. We are born and raised Houston Locals with no plans on leaving anytime soon. If I had to dislike something about Houston, it would be, of course, the TRAFFIC. As a Houstonian you always have to account for traffic. A 15 minute drive can end up taking an hour!
