Meet Geetanjali (Gee) Vashist of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Geetanjali (Gee) Vashist

Hi Gee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello everyone, I am Geetanjali Amy Vahist! I go by Gee! My story is still in continuation. I have lived in many cities across the US and the world, however, Houston is my home. I am a storyteller along with a food vlogger. A large part of my formative years was focused on health and a healthy lifestyle. My life has always been centered around food, and growing up as a vegetarian, I often felt self-conscious due to the limited choices and the need to constantly ask about ingredients. For instance, I would choke up when I would go to a store while deciding what I wanted to order. I would fill with anxiety as I felt the server’s impatient gaze on me while I struggled to choose what to order. Over time, I realized if I want lukewarm water with lemon, I have to ask for it. If I can’t find a vegetarian dish on the menu, I have to ask for a different menu or possible alterations. However, this experience ultimately boosted my confidence and became a key part of my food journey, allowing me to explore more and show people how truly diverse my city is. I want to provide people the opportunity to have their experience set when they go visit a place in Houston. I want them to look at my channel as their custom ordered menu that is Geeisbae approved.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth roads lead to ordinary destinations, but the bumpy and curvy paths take you to the most interesting places. So, it hasn’t been a smooth road, but I can confidently say it’s been filled with fun and enthusiasm. Struggle is a constant in the creative space. I would also say that I have just gotten comfortable to it. A major focus for my team has been to stay authentic while focusing on consistent growth. In the creative space, the atmosphere is constantly evolving and it can be easy to lose focus on your core values while jumping on the latest trend. Regardless of the size of your content creation, people approach teams reguarly for deals, collaboration and are willing to put a price on content. Marketing is what is important in this game. I am focused on bringing out content that is good and I believe adds value to the digital space. So, I make the decision to prioritize the quality and honesty of my content.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I feature coffee shops, cafes, bakeries, specialty food stores, and local Houston cuisine on my channel. The challenge of finding vegetarian options in Houston over the years has made me well-acquainted with different parts of the city and surrounding areas. My team and I work diligently to discover and highlight the perfect spots, ensuring we provide authentic and honest reviews of the service you can expect. What sets us apart is our dedication to quality, transparency, and our passion for showcasing hidden gems in Houston’s diverse culinary scene.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
The backbone of this channel is my two siblings. Divya Caroline Vashist and Abhay Heemanshu Vashist. They both serve as the powerhouse of this channel. Divya worked as the creative director while Abhay overlooks all aspects on the visuals and post producting editing.
