Today we’d like to introduce you to George Torres.
Hi George, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Not from Houston so this awkward. I will type this out though and you may still use it, or lie, I don’t care either way, up to you guys.
Born in Fort Worth Texas. Grew up playing football. When i graduated high school, i formed a rock band that i did for three years until i went to college full time. Went to TCC my first year then transferred to University of North Texas and graduated from there with a degree in Kinesiology. BUT while in college, i befriend some people in the media arts program. They invited me on a film project set and i’ve been hooked ever since. I made my first film my junior year of college and haven’t stopped since. All my work can be seen on either the SilentWolfProductions youtube channel or the AlittlebrotherProductions youtube channel.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Their were many growing pains along the way. At first i felt like an outsider in the industry. I had almost no formal education in the profession. To be honest i learned 75% of everything i know from youtube, and the rest from real world experience. Being on early sets i felt my opinion didn’t matter like the others due to not having the creditability. That quickly faded as i got more and more experience.
The next hurdle was equipment. It wasnt enough using a low quality camcorder, i need lighting sound recording and a better camera. And that all came slowly and through working two jobs to save enough to afford good film equipment.
The latest hurdle has been breaking through the amateur level and moving on to the professional level. Making more than a few dollars from occasional gigs. I have been working at building a youtube channel that has comedy sketches that i am hoping will provide a consistent stream of revenue so that i can fund my other projects.

SilentWolfProductions can be found on youtube and we provide free entertainment! We understand comedy can be subjective so we aim to bring modern and refreshing humor to our audience. the channel was started late last year and is already at a subscriber count of 12,200! I hope to have the channel monetized so that i may be able to produce more comedy shorts more frequently. My goal is a short every week.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
No one is going to do anything for you. You must be the one to captain the ship yourself.
