Meet Gina Schild Knowles of Gina Schild Photography in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Schild Knowles.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Gina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Been involved in photography since I was younger photographing my Dad’s fire jobs, flooded jobs etc. He was a general contractor and I would take pictures of the jobs he had to bid.

From that, I just started a love of photography as a hobby. I would do it more and more throughout my life until one day I decided to quit the corporate world and jump into it full-time I photographed anything and everything I could to pay the bills. Along the way, I discovered a love for weddings. That is my primary focus now!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Because I jumped into it from an advanced hobbyist side, I had many struggles. I struggled with lots of things from the start of my studio. Lighting & editing were a huge struggle. And I learned from each and every session I shot. I still learn to this day! I am always learning new styles to shoot and edit to keep things fun for me!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Gina Schild Photography – what should we know?
I market myself as a wedding photographer, but take business for Seniors & Boudoir. The wedding side also includes engagements & bridal sessions! I strive to keep myself educated, to shoot in a way that compliments the couple. If you look over my course of work, you will see I have a varying style. That is developed when I meet the couple when I see their style, the location of their wedding and the colors even influence that for me as well! Of course, what they like always helps me too!

I am very proud in the fact that I built my business from working. Each job, each day. I jumped in and when I got frustrated or discouraged I moved forward. I tried all kinds of marketing to get an understanding of how to grow. ANd I still educate myself on new gear and editing styles.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Firstly, my dad stuck the first camera in my hands. Film – a Canon AE-1. It was hard!

Then various photogs along the way I worked with. My husband lets me jump in, and helped me float for a bit!! So of course, him too!

Pricing:

  • My weddings start at $1200
  • Sessions run $325
  • Lifestyle Boudoir $425

Great story on Gina Schild. She is the hardest working photographer I have ever seen. Her photos are beautiful and reflect her talents in every shot. You can tell she takes pride in her pictures because they are beautiful and diverse. But that doesn’t surprise me because she is beautiful inside and out herself. She puts her heart and soul in every shot . I say this with much pride because I watched her career from the time her Dad Put that camera in her hand, watching her takes pictures everywhere we went. I may be a little prejudice because she is my previous daughter. Love you Gina Schild Knowles.
