Today we’d like to introduce you to Gladys McClain.
Hi Gladys, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always wanted to be a nurse or something in the medical field but I got busy raising my kids so I put my dream on hold for 20 years. When I finally was ready to go back to school, I changed my mind. I was already obsessed with skincare so I went to beauty school to become an Esthetician. In the middle of my school year I found out I had cervical cancer thank God it was stage 1 so I had surgery and I was fine after that. I went back to school for Laser and after all of the school and health problems I opened my first spa, I am the first in my family to own a business and I’m so proud of it. I love what I do, I do this with a passion I love meeting people every day. God is good!!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Owning a business is an everyday struggle, especially in the beauty industry. There is a lot of competition. My biggest struggle I think is marketing. With the new technology and changes that happen every day, it’s hard to keep up with it. I feel like a lot of people offer marketing services but half of them have no idea how the marketing world works. So finding the person who understand marketing without paying tons of dollars is though.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have always conducted my business with integrity, offering the best services. I invested in high quality machines for facials and laser. We offer luxury facial treatments, body contouring and Laser treatments. What sets me apart from others is that I don’t treat my clients as a number. Every person who visits my spa is treated like a queen. We take our time to get to know you to make you feel relaxed and pamper you. All of our treatments are customized and our products are high quality.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I grew up in Guatemala Central America and one of my best memories was playing outside with a lot of kids for hours during the summertime.
