Meet Grace Woodard of Katy, Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Grace Woodard

Hi Grace, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Grace Woodard, I am an 20 year old, Nail Technician, Hairstylist, Makeup Artist, along with having a Social Media rebrand Marketing business. I am very passionate about everything I set my mind to.
Ever since I was little I knew I wanted to do something in the beauty industry along with being an entrepreneur. Growing up I was so fascinated with makeup, nails, and even hair. Being on the cheer team since 3rd grade through high school put me kinda in a position where I was constantly doing my hair and makeup both, even helping girls on my team! Fast forward to my Sophomore year in high school I was accepted into Miller Career and Technology center, which is where I went to cosmetology school for my last 2 years of high school. I’ve always been someone who has had really bad testing anxiety and when it came time to take my written exam, the anxiety took over of me. It took not one, not two, but three times of me taking the test and being confident. I took my practical with a breeze! I put so much work into my dream I graduated with a diploma and cosmetology license. Although I started in a hair salon I never realized my talent in nails until my dad told me that I was really good and shouldn’t stop one thing just to pursue another. I had a great opportunity open up with a good friend of mine and I am now working with her doing nails, while still pursuing my OWN business in doing travel service ( hair, nails, and makeup) along with having a marketing business to help promote business such as my own who don’t get the attention they deserve! I live by if you want something bad enough you will do everything in your power to make it happen. Never stop dreaming, because what was once a little girl in her room dreaming is now a almost 21 year old who is living out her dream!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not always been a smooth road for sure. Juggling college on top of 2 jobs and managing my own business on the side, I have always had to tune out those who have doubted me and even the struggle of time management. I love making people happy but sometimes I found myself not putting my own happiness first and my businesses are my happiness! My business are what motivate me to get out of bed when sadness may take over. Being active is also something I have struggled with since about a year ago due to a lot of wondering if my businesses would be able to support me in the long run. When all I really had to do was believe in my self and my own potential.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a nail Technician, Hairstylist, Makeup Artist, and a social media marketing (rebranding). I am proud of it all, I have came such a long way and never thought I could get to where I have made it today! I don’t plan on stop here though. I will continue to push my own limits to reach a max potential of mine.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I would say I am very caring, giving, hardworking, driven, and dedicated. I also feel that I have a very good support system that I have built over time and surrounding myself with the right people, which has also been a big part of my success! The person I consider one of my best of friends Sophia Meghani, she has been a big inspiration for me and has always been there ever since we became friends in cosmetology school! Along with my parents, I could not have done any of the things I have if it wasn’t for my parents being in my corner even when they were unsure, they believed in my and trust my process! The process isn’t done and they are still some of my biggest supporters! My first year in the beauty industry was me learning the ends and outs of how it all really works. I am proud to announce that it will be my 3rd year being fully on my own in the beauty industry as a service provider and 4 years over all.
