Today we’d like to introduce you to Griselda Aguilar.
Hi Griselda, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am Griselda, I am 35 years old, I am Mexican and I have been living here in the United States for 6 years.
In Mexico, I studied and worked as a Preschool Education teacher, and one of the main reasons that led me to decide on this beautiful profession was the ability to use my creativity.
However, after teaching for 6 years, my life changed rapidly. I met the love of my life, I married him, and for this reason, I left my job and came to form my family here in the city of Houston Tx.
I am the mother of 3 boys now and the wife of a wonderful man who makes me feel very proud of him and also myself because his support is unconditional.
The first thing I learned when I arrived here and started my family was to admire and value the work of a housewife, because this is a 24/7 job without rest. Mentally and physically exhausting work.
So I started looking for a way to help me renew my energies by doing other types of activities, so I became interested in the world of balloons. Making art with balloons caught my attention so much that when I started creating my first designs they made me feel totally different.
I felt that it was a relaxation technique for me, it made me feel like new and with more energy and obviously that it made me feel more creative, so much so that by creating more designs I have come to surprise myself with what I am capable of doing.
And this is how Happy Balloon Bouquet By Gris began a year and a half ago when I decided to make a page on social networks. I am very happy and I like it more and more, my goal is to continue growing and for that reason, I am here sharing my story so that they know me and can know more about my business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can say that my biggest obstacle is that I don’t know how to speak English and sometimes that stops me from moving forward. However, what I like most about this beautiful city of Houston Tx is the great diversity of people here, and I always find someone who speaks Spanish or is willing to help out. I always find a way to make myself understood and stay focused on my goals and my work.
As for the rest, I continue to prepare, update and practice in decoration classes, courses or workshops in order to provide a better service to my clients.

Happy balloon bouquet by Gris offers balloon garlands, balloon bouquets, jumbo balloons among others for any type of event or celebration.
When a customer contacts me and gives me information about the type of event, I try to help them in the most attentive way with ideas for the balloon decoration, and that way they can better choose what they have planned.
This has worked for me a lot because most of the clients are unaware of the colors, sizes, designs or even the quality of the balloons that I can offer them.
For this reason, I am proud of the work I am doing because my clients return and are happy to hire me again.
Also, the key to keep moving forward is to love what you do and in this case, I try to dedicate time to this project, always with the help of my family, my husband and my children who are always with me supporting me and enjoying this process together.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Since I was a child, I have been characterized by a great sense of humor, curiosity and the initiative to get things done. So this helped me develop and highlight the ability of creativity.
Also, in my childhood I used my imagination a lot, I always wanted to stand out from others, and I grew up expressing myself with art
I always took into account the values that my parents taught me, so I always wanted to start a family and be a responsible and hard-working person, I always thank God that he has given me the opportunity to achieve it.
