Hanh and Denise, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Denise and I started the salon in 2010, we have worked together to grow the salon where it is at today. We have worked and put in hours of hard work.
This is both ours first business together, we still learn every day with our staff.
We have worked very well together and trust and support each other. Not only are we business partners, but we have become very close.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Opening a business is never easy, from dishonest AC contractor to hiring great employees. The beauty industry is a very hard market, due to hair salons, to booth rentals hurting commissions salon, nails salons in every corner only charging $20 pedicures, membership base massage salon and now lash studios. We try our best to offer amazing customer services and a great education to our employees.
In the last 7 yrs. of business, we had also had construction on our main road, which had hurt our business and now the bridge to get to our salon is about to be under construction also. Those are things as a business owner that is not in your control, but the only thing you can do is continue to work very hard and take care of your clients.
