Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah quijada.

Hannah quijada

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been sewing off and on since elementary school, giving me over 30 years of experience in the craft. My professional background spans education, healthcare management, and international-level training, but my true passion lies in identifying gaps within industries and finding innovative ways to bridge them. Brainstorming, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving are where I thrive, and sewing has become the perfect medium through which I channel this passion.

For me, sewing is more than just a skill—it’s a way to educate, connect with others, and address unmet needs in the bridal seamstress industry. I’m always happy to dive deeper into these topics, sharing what has worked for me and helping others develop strategies and tools that fit their unique needs. While I’m far from perfect, I believe in learning together, exchanging ideas, and fostering growth in this space.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think most of us creative entrepreneurs have a bit of a rocky road; however, it’s something we thrive on. It’s sew important to be mindful of the business’ needs, our personal and mental health while giving your best for your clients. Maintaining a work-life balance has been the toughest for me. I’m always learning from mistakes, learning from others’ experiences and striving to be better in customer service, technique and in life overall.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At HQT Bridal Tailoring, we specialize in offering services that no other company provides, making the wedding day as seamless and stress-free as possible. Our onsite steaming and wedding day services are tailored specifically to the bride and her gown, ensuring every detail is flawless—from the final press to last-minute adjustments. We’re there to make sure the dress looks perfect, no matter what. Here’s a quote from a bride’s mom who hired us for our Bridal Concierge services

“I can’t believe I ever considered NOT having you here today. You were absolutely incredible and if anyone is on the fence have them call me! I don’t know what we would have done if you weren’t here”. And another raving review from a bride: ”

“We seriously could not have had our wedding without you! Your services on our day never stopped! From helping every bridesmaid, fluffing my veil for pictures, and running around like a mad woman to ensure I always looked my best. AH-MAZING!”

What truly sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to creating a safe, welcoming space for all brides, including LGBTQ+ individuals. Every bride deserves to feel celebrated and embraced, and we take pride in fostering an environment where everyone feels comfortable to be themselves. Empathy is at the heart of everything we do—listening carefully to each bride’s story, understanding her vision, and bringing it to life with precision and care.

Our passion lies in transforming the bridal experience into something unforgettable. From offering extended appointments and personalized touches to ensuring the gown fits like a dream, we focus on the bride’s journey with thoughtfulness and expertise. It’s not just about the dress—it’s about the confidence and joy that comes with feeling beautiful, understood, and supported on one of the most important days of her life.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5-10 years, I sadly don’t foresee significant changes in the bridal industry as a whole, but I’m determined to be part of the solution to some of its most pressing issues. One of the biggest changes I hope to see—and am actively working toward—is a shift in how brides are engaged throughout their wedding journey. I believe the focus will increasingly move toward creating a more personalized experience, centered on their story and vision, rather than treating alterations and gown care as an afterthought.

One major issue in our industry is the disconnection between bridal salons and alteration specialists. This gap often leads to unnecessary stress for brides, which is why I’m committed to bridging this divide. By fostering closer partnerships and communication, we can provide a more seamless and supportive experience for every bride.

I also anticipate more candor and transparency in working with brides, helping them feel empowered and educated about their options. Specialty services, like our bridal concierge that offers onsite support and wedding-day gown care, will become more common as brides seek out businesses that truly prioritize their needs.

Finally, I see a growing trend toward bridal seamstresses expanding their expertise to include gown cleaning. Right now, many gowns are shipped across states for cleaning, adding unnecessary costs and delays. By training seamstresses in cleaning and preservation, we can keep this process local, efficient, and tailored to the individual bride.

My hope is to lead by example, demonstrating how a more empathetic, connected, and service-driven approach can reshape the bridal industry for the better.
