Meet Hayley Reinert of Sweet P Farm in Manvel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hayley Reinert.

Hayley, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My husband and I bought the property this past January. It was pretty serendipitous actually, we weren’t actively looking to move. I used to love looking on HAR at dreamy homes and decorating styles. In the back of my mind, I was always secretly looking for a piece of property for my husband.

He’s always wanted a home with acreage and a pond and I so badly craved to find him one. Last Christmas I came across “our future home” and immediately knew this was it. The status of the house was pending but I called the realtor and asked if we could see the home just in case. We drove down the oak-lined drive and we were both in deep. It was everything we dreamed of for ourselves and our children.

During our tour of the property, the realtor mentioned to us that the owner leased the property by the hour to photographers to use as a backdrop for photo shoots and at the time we thought that it was a really neat concept but didn’t think much of it. Right after the paperwork was signed I received my first phone call from a photographer and it never stopped. We re-branded, renamed the farm to Sweet P Farm and made a new Facebook page and webpage and just like that we had a little business.

Overall we just feel extremely gracious for this little venture that has been placed in our hands and each day that we can continue to do this is just another blessing.

Has it been a smooth road?
Honestly, we haven’t faced many notable struggles yet.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Sweet P Farm – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Sweet P Farm is a family owned and operated venue for photo shoots. We mainly host family shoots, bridal portraits, senior sessions, engagements, and smash cake sessions. We have 3.4 acres of wide open space, a driveway lined with mature oak trees, a pond, rustic fencing, an old red barn/chicken coop, a vintage metal shop with a Texas flag mural, and a classic farmhouse. We share our home with 13 chickens, 1 guinea, 3 ducks, and our two sweet labs.

We are largely known for our oak tree lined drive, large wooden tree swings, Texas flag mural, and friendly wildlife. The property is simply beautiful. We really don’t have to do much. It’s just naturally breathtaking. Whenever people come here they are always so surprised that this exists so close to downtown Houston. It’s like it takes people to another dimension. Away from the chaos. I would say that is what sets us apart. That and the wildlife. Our birds are big photo-bombers and people sure do love them.

We also get a lot of remarks that our property is something people have always dreamed of owning. I guess I would say that is what I’m most proud of. My husband is the hardest worker you will ever know. He provided us with this life we live here and I’m extremely proud of him and I feel like our home is a reflection of him. We take a lot of pride in our home. We work hard to upkeep the property and put a lot of sweat, time, and devotion to making this place what it is.

My husband and I both love to work outside and are also big animal people. If ever we have free time you will always find us outside painting, building, landscaping, feeding the birds, or daydreaming of what we should do next.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I feel like Houston has so much to offer. Houston is so diverse in every aspect. I’m proud to raise a family here. My child will experience so much culture and that is what I strive to show him every day. My least favorite part about our city is all the concrete and fog. That’s what makes our little slice of heaven even more special. You wouldn’t even know that we are a short drive south of downtown.
