Today we’d like to introduce you to Haytham Kader.
Haytham, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I was a kid, I would frolic with all the toys I can get my hands on. However, unlike most kids, I enjoyed making my own toys, helmets, and crafts.
By the time I graduated high school, I knew that architecture was what I wanted to study in college. After taking a few architecture classes at the University of Houston, I came to the conclusion that model making was my forte. I was always a hands-on person who enjoyed building with my hands. I derived joy and pride from watching my projects go from raw materials to realistic and detailed projects.
After graduating from college, I worked as an architect. Later, I took the experience that I gained from my early years of working and utilized it in started my own architectural model making studio called Kader Models. Kader Models is a fully equipped model shop that is backed by computerized laser cutting to help produce quality models efficiently, ranging from quick conceptual studies to fully detailed presentations. Today, I work closely with many architects and developers most of who are based in Houston and who I am proud to call my friends.
Every day, I am doing what I love to do, and that gives me the energy and motivation to continue to grow and improve in my profession. I found my passion at a young age, and that is something I am forever grateful for.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not every project is the same, so my job is not routine. Thus, I can be faced with challenges that I have not encountered before, but I enjoy taking on these challenges, and I am able to utilize my education, over 20 years of experience, and passion in order to overcome these challenges and produce quality results.
