Meet Heather Gilbreath

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Gilbreath.

Hi Heather, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always loved performing. I started dance classes for Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern Dance when I was in elementary school. I was also involved in playing soccer, running cross country, and track. All throughout high school, I was in Colorguard, which was my favorite Sport/Dance to be a part of. Being in Colorguard really got me interested in the Performance Art world and soon after graduating high school, I started GoGo Dancing and performing with hula hoops and various other props. I also became interested in Fire Spinning, Aerial Arts, and Stilt Walking. I now work for many companies in Houston, including J&D Entertainment, Incredible Events, Dreamland Entertainment just to name a few. I also book gigs myself through my Performance name Sparkle N Flow Entertainment.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not always been a smooth road! It took a long time of practicing to get to where I am now in the performance world. It is a lot of hard work and dedication, hours of practice, attending many workshops, having the right mentors, and surrounding yourself with the right people who want to help you and see you succeed. It also takes a while to continuously promote what you do to get noticed to be hired for events.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a multi-skilled performer specializing in Fire Performance, Hula Hooping and other prop manipulation, Stilt Walking, and Aerial Arts. I am proud of myself that I can do all of these things, and I work hard every day to work on each of these things to better my craft. I love to have bright, sparkly costuming when I am performing to go along with my brand Sparkle N Flow Entertainment.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t really think that there is bad or good luck, I believe in hard work and dedication and setting goals to reach to get to where you want to be.
