Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Hall.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Although a corporate lawyer by trade, my passion for skin care led me to start Holly Hall Supply Co. in November 2017 with the goal to bring to market the best shave gel the world has ever seen. That goal has since expanded to deliver high quality but simple skin care products for busy men & women who don’t have time for a 10-step routine. We currently have four products and plan to expand in 2019.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We set out to bring to market the best shave gel the world has ever seen. I believe we accomplished that goal; however, we were led by our passion, not a glowing market need. Your classic “build it and they will come” strategy. This misstep initially resulted in a struggle to consistently generate leads.
However, we’re thankful to have learned from that experience and now, try to learn everything we can about potential customers and educate as to why we’re the best solution for their pain points.
Holly Hall Supply Co. – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
From idea to bottle on a shelf, we’re hands on. Our team of dermatologists works with our chemists to select the most effective and safe ingredients to develop our formulations. I step in as the layperson and, with the input of our all human team of guinea pigs, offer feedback from a user experience standpoint. The result is high-quality skin care products that are both effective and a pleasure to use.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career has been to witness my own internal development. I used to be a worrier and one of my concerns, in the beginning, was that the stresses of running my own business might be crippling. Instead, it has steadied my hand and allowed me to see the forest as well as the trees.
The thought that my professional life was no longer on a linear path used to cause me anxiety. Now, I take solace in the fact that everyone is making it up as they go and find satisfaction in knowing that, by and large, I am responsible for my destiny.
