The House Estate was originally built in 1890 as part of a 1,000-acre working cattle ranch owned by Joseph and Louise House. The home and land were passed down through generations to their sons, preserving the family’s rich history and legacy.
In 1989, the current owners, Calvin and Pam House, lovingly restored the historic mansion and transformed it into a wedding and event venue. Today, The House Estate remains a family-operated venue, welcoming guests into our home to celebrate life’s most meaningful moments while experiencing the charm and history of our beautifully restored estate.
One of the things that makes The House Estate so special is that we host only one event per day, allowing each couple and their guests exclusive access to the house and grounds for the entire day. We also pride ourselves on being a flexible venue, with our main goal being to help bring each client’s unique vision and dreams to life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life is rarely a smooth road, and The House Estate’s journey has been no exception. From the early struggles of ranch life, to preserving the property within the House family and restoring the original homestead, every generation has faced its own challenges. More recently, we’ve navigated the modern challenge of competing with newly built local venues.
Through it all, The House Estate has remained strong because of the heart behind it. Our presence in the community, the history of our family home, and the genuine care and thought we put into each and every event continue to set us apart. We are passionate about creating meaningful experiences for our guests, and that personal touch is something we believe can never be replaced.

As a family-owned venue, we specialize in hosting only one event per day, allowing each client and their guests to enjoy a truly exclusive and personalized experience with full access to the estate and grounds throughout the entire day.
Nestled on 18 beautifully landscaped acres, The House Estate features a serene lake, tranquil pond with a fountain, towering trees wrapped in lights, and a charming gazebo that serves as a picturesque setting for outdoor ceremonies. The property is filled with unique photo opportunities, including a beautifully restored well and water trough, a museum showcasing antiques and artifacts collected from the ranch over the years, and a restored 1917 Dodge Brothers Touring Car that adds timeless character to any event.
At the heart of the estate is our beautifully restored 1890s Victorian mansion, complete with elegantly decorated bridal, groom, and bonus suites upstairs. We also offer our spacious Grand Room for indoor ceremonies and receptions, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that provide breathtaking panoramic views and an open, elegant atmosphere.
The House Estate is known for its old-world charm, stunning scenery, and genuine family warmth. Our goal is to create meaningful experiences and unforgettable memories while providing a breathtaking backdrop for every celebration.

The success of The House Estate is truly thanks to the current owners, Calvin and Pam House. Their vision, dedication, and passion transformed the historic family homestead into the beautiful venue it is today.
Calvin poured countless hours of hard work, craftsmanship, and heart into restoring and preserving the property, while Pam thoughtfully designed and decorated the interiors, creating the warm and elegant atmosphere guests experience today. Pam has also personally welcomed many couples and families through venue tours over the years, helping guests immediately feel at home.
Nearly 30 years after creating this beautiful venue together, Calvin and Pam still remain actively involved in events, ensuring every guest feels welcomed, cared for, and part of something special. Their love for the property and genuine desire to help make dreams come true are at the heart of everything The House Estate represents.
