Meet Huey Walters of Eclectic Mindz Entertainment & All Subsidiaries/Mae Foundation, Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Huey Walters

Hi Huey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in a modest city where resources often felt limited, yet I always had a profound desire to help others. This passion led me to pursue higher education immediately after high school, where I embarked on a diverse academic journey majoring in forensic psychology and fashion, with a minor in music. Though my fascination with the human mind remained strong, I realized forensic psychology wasn’t my ultimate calling.
During college, I ventured into sales, where I discovered the psychology behind consumer behavior and buying power. This revelation ignited my interest in business and personal development, leading me to work with several prestigious Fortune 500 companies. I’ve held roles such as National Account Executive for T-Mobile, Business Executive for Sprint, Area Supervisor for Cricket, Store Manager for Foot Locker, Fashion Merchandising Supervisor for Forever 21, Merchandising Coordinator for Stein Mart, and various management positions at McDonald’s and Genesco Corporation, among others.
These dynamic experiences across multiple industries have not only strengthened my business acumen but also cultivated a versatile entrepreneurial mindset. Each role has contributed to my expansive skill set, empowering me to excel in leadership, sales strategy, and brand development.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business, has definitely not been easy. It’s really about making a bet on yourself and not letting anything or anyone get in the way of that goal. There are times when I have had no customers and was unable to pay my bills. That itself can be very discouraging and cause people to give up. There are licensing, insurance, and various fees associated with running and facilitating business that sometimes are not factored into operation when considering starting a business. Often times, when people tell me they want to start a business I tell people make sure you have enough money saved up because you’re going to need it.

As you know, we’re big fans of Eclectic Mindz Entertainment & All Subsidiaries/Mae Foundation, Inc.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
About 15 years ago, I founded Eclectic Mindz, Entertainment and all Subsidiaries, an entertainment service company that provides a wide range of services, not just limited to music entertainment. Our mission is to help people embrace their creative ideas and bring them to life through various events, such as weddings, parties, festivals, and baby showers.

We like to call ourselves a one-stop shop! We serve Beaumont and the surrounding areas, Houston, the entire state of Texas, Louisiana, and have been fortunate enough to serve Atlanta. Our goal is to expand to California very soon. A client can expect us to provide exceptional service and cater to their every need.
A client is able to come in and we are able to help plan event, decorate, also offer in-house rentals, like royalty thrown chairs, tables, chairs, table cloths, etc. We also offer on site services, i.e. valet parking, security, and even mobile bartending services for a clients event. One of the latest and greatest features is the photo 360 booth, clients LOVE capturing memories! If we are unable to fulfill in house, then we have a direct list of vendors that we use to help ensure a successful event production. We also make custom sublimation and vinyl products that have known to create great reviews for its ‘from the heart graphics’. We have created some memorable products and generated business for Megan the stallion/Pete & Thomas Foundation, Twelve Days of Christmas Inc. foundation, Kid’s Care, Inc, other various businesses throughout the area and partnered with some of your most influential social media influencers. After realizing the even more importance of helping others, I later founded Sis. Mary ‘Mae Helen’ Butler Foundation Inc. also known proudly to others as, Mae Foundation, Inc. in honor of my late grandmother whom loved to help others, and worked widely in the community and church instilling positive impacts in our youth. Mae Foundation, has helped many families over the years since it’s existence in 2020 with resources for food during difficult times, scholarships for youth, backpack/school supply giveaways, partnered with some amazing businesses over the years like Nike, Ambassodor Resources, H-E-B and other various businesses to support communities and engagement and have some amazing new projects coming very soon that will expand our community reach and grow our vision. I knew this journey would not be easy but with God and some of the most amazing clients, some of which have become lifelong friends has been an amazing journey and well worth it! And there’s so much more to come.

What makes you happy?
My happiness is in helping others. I enjoy spending time with my family and loved ones. Part of the reason I started to make products and gifts is because I enjoyed seeing the expressions on people face as they opened up their gifts from loved ones. Another thing that I find great pleasure is working with my non profit organization. In 2020, I established the Sis. Mary “Mae Helen” Butler Foundation, Inc., affectionately known as the Mae Foundation, in honor of my late grandmother, a dedicated community leader and church servant who passionately inspired and uplifted youth. Since its inception, the Mae Foundation has profoundly impacted countless families by providing essential resources such as food assistance during challenging times, educational scholarships for aspiring students, and annual backpack and school supply drives. Through strategic partnerships with renowned organizations like Nike, Ambassador Resources, H-E-B, and other distinguished businesses, we’ve extended our reach and created lasting connections—some evolving into lifelong friendships. This journey has been both remarkable and fulfilling, with endless possibilities for even greater impact on the horizon.
