Today we’d like to introduce you to Iceman Chamberlain.
Hi Iceman, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I made my first beat * about a year before I caught my last case. After many trials and tribulations of being in and out of jail up until 2016. The last time I went to jail, I decided that I wanted better and wanted to be more than just a statistic in today’s society. I realized that I wanted to work on my craft and develop myself as not just a producer, a super producer. See there is a big difference between someone making beats, a producer, and someone making beats and producing quality sounds and singles, that’s is something I do. A major turning point in my life happened when I met Sauce Walka after getting out of jail in. A guy by the name of Jrag 2x introduced me to him and help secure the opportunity. Ever since then, I’ve began working as a TSF Producer. My first major notice was in 2018, on a song called, Send it to me, on Sauce Walka’s, On Saucefather album. I’ve worked with most of the well-known artist around the city such as OTB Fastlane, Lil Jairmy, Yung Al, and many other artist that are well known such Trippie Red, Mozzy, Trapboy Freddy, Wiz Khalifa, NBA Youngboy, and more producing quality beats for them. My latest project that made many playlist and Apple Music charts was Sauce Walka Black Kings featuring Babyface Ray, which is currently at 1M views on YouTube. Producing can be a hit or miss but when you do score, you see the light and the win. That is why my tagline is “Chamberlain, he’s got it!”
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Obstacles I’ve faced is trying to stay focused and making producing my main priority, especially after getting out of jail with nothing. Also, with the recent passing of my father, pushing through has become a challenge. Thanks to my team that has helped me stay on track and focused. I wouldn’t say the journey was smooth at all. It had a few bumps in the road, that wasn’t my first time going to jail or catching a case, so dealing with the courts and the wrong crowd kind of made it difficulty to focus on me yet along my career. It was only until the last time I went to jail that I decided to put 100% percent effort into my craft. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still dealing with small things, but the road is definitely more smoother than the one I had to endure before. At the end of the day, I believe in myself, and that’s all I need to keep progressing no matter the obstacle.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Super Producer. I make beats and produce hit singles.
I’m the one in the studio with a lot your favorite artist. We’ve been working from sundown to sunup. So, you should expecting more hits coming soon. I am also working on an album myself with a lot of well-known musicians. It’ll be one of the dopest projects yet, I can’t wait until people hear it. I have a few loose ends to tie up before it’s released but when it does get release expect nothing but greatness. I also have a few events lined up that people should expect to hear about soon. I’m really not an outside person but this year I plan on stepping out my comfort zone and going out every now and then, we’ll see. Overall, I expect this year to be about nothing but greatness.
As far as producing, I want people to know that it is more than just making beats. You can’t just put your all into one client and not the other. You have to be able to tell your clients, no this doesn’t sound right, and rather they take your advice or not, they’ll for sure respect you. When you are producing, you’re not just producing a beat or booking studio time, you’re producing hits or songs that could possible be a hit. So, you have to put your all into your craft and clients, you never know when it can pay off. You all should also be seeing a lot more of me, I have a lot in store.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is sitting in front of the tv and watching BET and MTV all day. I remember coming from school watching it or during the weekends when it would come on. Those are the moment that really gave me inspiration because I wanted to be just like them people. I would imagine myself in those spots, on those shows, and constantly tell myself that that’s going to be me one day. It’s something I just knew and felt. You can definitely say that since a young age, I had a spark. I knew I had a dream I wanted to make happen but just didn’t know to do it. Now I can finally say that dreams do come true and this is only the beginning.
