Hi Iris, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, my name is Iris, wife, mother of 2 kiddos (Brayden James and Aubree Reese), 1 angel baby, and 3 fur babies! I am the owner of Saylor Grace Boutique, named after my angel baby! Growing up, my mom had me dressed to the nines. My mom made a lot of my clothes. She made sure I matched from head to toe. She had me dressed in all the things that are making a comeback now. She made my all my outfits for years. The jumpsuits, sequin, velvet dresses, all the embroidered things. I have to Thank her for introducing me to all the Fashion things. Being in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Baton Twirling for 17 years (I still Twirl to this day) made me fall in love more with fashion. Getting to wear all the sequin and flashy costumes that made you stand out was the icing on the cake. Fast forward to now, I always knew that I wanted to own a something that had to do with Fashion. I started in my Living Room making custom shirts and doggie bandanas. I knew that owning a Boutique is what I always dreamed of, so I invested in a Mobile Boutique. My husband would pull the Mobile Boutique to local markets, events, and pop-ups. We opened our Store Front March 24, 2022, in my Hometown of Needville, TX!!! It has been an Amazing Journey. I love making sure that every customer that walks thru our door has the Best Experience and leaves feeling great about themselves! Seeing them walk out of the dressing room with a smile on their face and love what they have on makes my heart so happy. We wouldn’t be where we are today without our amazing customers! Our customers are truly THE BEST!!!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth Road?!? Absolutely Not… but I wouldn’t want it to be a smooth road. I have learned and grown so much on this journey, and I wouldn’t change a thing. This past year has been lots of Legit Blood, Sweat, and Tears… LOTS of tears. So thankful for my Husband, who has been there EVERY STEP of the way to help my dream come true. The struggle is REAL when my husband and I both have full-time Jobs, 2 kids who are involved in so much, 3 fur babies, and owning a Boutique. Trying to balance being a wife, mom, work life, and business life is TOUGH. My husband and I get about 4 hours of sleep a night (if we are lucky), but at the same time, once again, I wouldn’t change a thing. We love this life we have created! I owe a big Thank You to my Husband, who helps me with anything I need help with. He knows how much I have on my plate and how much Saylor Grace means to me… he will open the Boutique for me and gets along GREAT with my customers. They Love him!!! He will also unpack, steam, and tag clothes because there is no way I could get it all done on my own.

We work hard to be a one-stop shop boutique here in my hometown of Needville, TX. We have a little bit of everything. We carry women’s clothing ranging in sizes XS to 3XL, Baby and Kids Clothing/gifts for Girls and Boys, Home Décor & Gifts; our Jewelry and Accessory line is called Magnolia Lane (Magnolia Lane is Co-Owned with Crystal Bautista and Myself), and we have our own Permeant Jewelry Line. Our Kid section, “Aubree Reese Collection,” is named after my daughter Aubree Reese; she is 11 and has been picking out her line of kids’ clothes for a year now. We love making everyone feel beautiful and confident about themselves. The one-on-one time we spend with our customers is important to us; we get to know what they are looking for and what they like. We get to learn so much about our customers that they all turn into family. Customer Service is a BIG DEAL to me.
Here a Saylor Grace, we love giving back to community any chance we get! I think that is extremely important to stay involved. Donating to all kinds of events, charities, and fundraisers in Needville and in surrounding cities in Fort Bend County is something we enjoy doing. We also awarded our First Saylor Grace Scholarship to a Needville Senior. It’s also teaching my kiddos the importance to always give back. It was such a special moment for my family; we sat down and read every essay together. We hope to be able to award more scholarships in future.
We LOVE LOVE, LOVE hosting events! Once a month, we invite a big group of women to an after-hours event. Every event so far has lasted until 1 AM, LOL… We have a GREAT time! Wine, Margaritas, Snacks, Games, Botox, and lots of FUN! This is a time to get a group of ladies together to mingle and meet new friends. By the end of the night, new friendships begin that some get a permanent bracelet together. That brings me so much Joy that I can help new friendships begin. On top of that… WE HAVE HOSTED MULTIPLE BIRTHDAY PARTIES!!! The Birthday Girl gets to invite all her friends and get the whole Boutique for themselves. It’s an awesome feeling that they want to have a party at the Boutique for their Birthday.

We offer Margaritas and Wine on Saturdays as a little Thank You to our customers. Our customers are EVERYTHING to us!!

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
Hard to choose just one childhood memory!!! My BEST childhood memory is being in dance! I love tap dancing! I liked ballet, jazz, etc., BUT TAP was my thing, and my dad loved it too!!! My first solo was a tap dance; I was only 4 years old! I was so proud of myself for placing 2nd on my first solo! I am so thankful for my parents for putting me in dance/twirling. For 17 years, my mom and dad NEVER missed one practice, performance, or competition. Seeing them in the audience smiling and being proud is the best feeling ever!
